Nazareth won their 26th state title at the UIL Girls Basketball Championships while Farwell fell in OT in a heartbreaker.  Texline and Valley were imipressive in Regional Finals win while Randall and Gruver fall.  Jalin Conyers absolutely shined at the NFL combine last week and we have the results from the Canyon Invitational Track Meet.

Lee Baker Retires; Bo Dickinson Takes Over in Muleshoe; Panhandle, Farwell, Naz Girls Advance; Reg. Qtrs. Boys Recap 24.02.2025

After 42 years in the Amarillo TV market, Lee Baker is retiring.  Bo Dickinson was named the head football coach at Muleshoe while Johnny Nino is out at Dimmitt.  Panhande, Farwell, and Naz girls advanced to the state semifinals with impressive wins.  Bushland stunned Brownfield in the Regional Quarters while PD is the only 5A team left and area teams litter the 1A brackets.

Randall wrapped up it's eight team title gold at the state wrestling meet while Hunter Bogner, Mikey Ruiz, Darien Lewis and Ariana Chavez impressed.  Pampa and Kress are the furthest they've ever been in the girls playoffs as we look at the Reg. Randall took down Aubrey in a five set thriller while Bushland toppled Ponder in straight sets as both volleyball squads are one win away from a state title.  It's the Area round of TXHSFB and the schedule is packed with great games including Panhandle/Stamford, Sunray/Hawley and Bushland/Peaster.  Plus, District 3-5A girls basketball and the latest TABC rankings.

Randall took down Canyon in the Regional volleyball finals while Bushland continues to roll as both teams advance to the state semifinals.  West Plains, Vega, Fort Elliott and Wildorado all fall in playoff volleyball action.  Roundup of bi-district action across the area as local teams were 18-8 this week.  Amarillo High, Dumas and River Road take down district champs.
