Presence: Experiencing the Nearness of God

The fourth in an ongoing series of episodes about what to do at my school with all of the wasteful K Pod Coffee plastic the we use.

I have two encounters with ubiquitous animals and experience God's Presence in them and within all of Creation.

I experience God's Presence as I watch my sophomore class constructively engage with Mark's Gospel and feel like a proud papa watching his own children.

I get to watch live baseball - Giants vs. Nats while I do the dishes. I feel God's Presence as this brings back memories of watching the Giants live with my Dad last summer in SF.

On this Earth Day I heard God's words and Word speaking to me in mass and outside walking and meditating.

Today, my 14 year old daughter was Confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church. God was near in this celebration this morning!

My experience of God's Presence today is like a sandwich with a top and a bottom with and unexpected middle.

I notice a ladybug on the ceiling in my bathroom this morning and I think about the "thisness" of God's Presence as described by John Duns Scotus.

I wash dishes and listen via the At Bat app to baseball played in Oakland, CA and remember fondly many games I've watched there.

I'm reading a novel "Dark Matter" by Blake Crouch and wondering about what the existence (unproven thus far) of a Multiverse would reveal about God, life & everything.

I experience God's Presence in a beautiful Baptism during mass this morning.

My Saturday meeting gathers in a different place and I enjoy answering questions from an old friend about my experience podcasting.

I watch the 2016 Japanese film "Shin Godzilla" soon after learning of our attack of Syria and wonder where God is in the midst of war.

It final felt like Spring today. It was warm and sunny and also quite breezy. Listen as I share my thoughts as I sit outside on my back porch.

I go for a great hike in a nearly empty park and experience rich solitude and a "God Wink" too.

In three moments of encountering imperfection today I choose not to curse or lament 'If only...' but to gratefully accept what is.

I feel God's Presence with my wife as we cleaned and with my son as we went out together this evening.
