Presence: Experiencing the Nearness of God

I experience God's Presence as I watch my students in a spirited and competitive review game!

I celebrate the birthday of the Church through a Spirit-filled mass which concluded with a public Anointing of the Sick.

My kids are growing up! I enjoy my daughter's dance recital and let my son drive for the very first time.

A different episode than any before it. Have a Kleenex or two handy...

An unexpected day off from school today! Enjoyed extra sleep and a much needed time to catch up on my school work. Grateful as God was present in it all!

You're not going to believe the unexpected news I received tonight...

The saga of the repurposing of the K Cups continues. Two students and I plant in these plastic containers to see if we can get tomatoes and peppers to grow.

It was uncomfortably warm in my classroom today until I felt a cool breeze and experienced God's Presence in it.

I take a walk in a nearby park with my head full of planning & ruminating. Yet God gave me a loving nudge to invite me to pay attention.

I encounter people celebrating different ages today and I experience God's Presence is the celebration of the passing of time.

I experienced two distinct God's Presence Moments today - an active one while teaching and a still one while meditating on my back porch this evening.

A colleague has placed a thoughtful and useful "hospitality unit" in a faculty bathroom (photo is on the Facebook page). Experiencing this today gets me thinking about how hospitality and welcoming others is at the core of whom Christ is and how his followers should act.

I have a moment with the K Cups (listen to previous episodes) which shows my hubris and also the humility which I gain as a result. Also I reflect on the video for "This is America" and a new short film by The Atlantic.

Two times today I experienced God's Presence. In the evening as I watched two owls in my neighborhood and earlier in the day while planting seeds in the recovered K Pod coffee cups.

This afternoon I sat on my porch and was inspired by Pope Francis' words about holiness and how to follow Christ written in his recent "Gaudete et Exsultate"

This episode is recorded on Sunday morning as my evening plans changed when my son invited me to watch a movie with him. I'm glad I did as my God Presence Moment for the day was discovered within it.

I feel the nearness of God in the mass with our likely soon to be retiring bishop and brand new superintendent of Catholic schools.

A great start to the day sitting outside on my porch praying and a good end seeing The Avengers with my son.

I wear a favorite shirt to school today which reminds me of a life changing trip during which I felt God's Presence richly and frequently.

Finally Spring arrived on the first day of May and we got out into the garden. But my most significant God's Presence Moment came earlier in my classroom with the musical piece "Atlantic" by Sleeping at Last.

Two times of God Presence Moments today. First in three YouTube videos discovered and shown at opportune times. Then feeling God's Presence intensely as I sat outside and listened to Merton's words for Dusk.

It's a full Sunday! I go and watch our school's last performance of the school year and I mow the law for the first time this season!

It's Saturday which means I worked my second job pouring wine. It was here that I most felt God's Presence today.

I discover a new video by U2, my all time favorite musicians and through it I experience the Presence of God.
