Tom Cruise as an unsettling tree man, Tim Curry somehow magnificent as the zestiest 7ft tall devil, a plot that is as difficult to make sense of as the editing decisions and yet some strangely captivating visuals. A truly, truly bizarre 90 minutes. 5 stars. No notes.
