Are you ever alone? Do you face difficulties with out hope? Not if your trust is in the Lord, your helper.

Who is the source of all comfort? What are we supposed to do with the comfort we receive?

God is not like us when he is angered. When people sin, he is not quick to judgment. He is patient, wanting all to repent.

"In your anger, do not sin." Paul , quoting Psalm 4:4, says this to the church in Ephesus. Straightforward enough, right? How do we live it out? That's the difficulty.

Ever have a long conversation with someone you mistakenly called? Small town moment! Can these situations bring blessing to others? Can they happen in a big city or a big church?

If there is no resurrection, is Jesus alive? That is the question. Paul asks this question in 1 Corinthians 15 and then answers it.

What you take in, what's inside you, comes out in the end. If you're wise in your own eyes, fleshly things will exit your mouth and heart. If the Spirit's within, good fruit will result.

Ads for our sunrise service were mysteriously snatched off tables in restaurants around town. What happened? We'll never know. Sometimes, the good news is statched up and kept from people who hear God's word. What do we do?

Light reveals things good and bad. True when seeking out pests in your garage. True when God is inspecting your heart.

Some things are better filtered out. Algorithms do it on our computers and phones. God does it when we're tempted.

On the best Friday ever, Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. Reflect on his sacrifice. Hear the psalmist sing of it. Rest in the knowledge that what it took to purchase salvation is finished.

Jesus' followers want to follow him to the bitter end. They will abandon him when the heat's turned up. Peter claims he'll never leave. He still falls. On the other side, he finds God to be unchangingly faithful.

St. John of the Cross wrote the poem, The Dark Night of the Soul , while earnestly seeking to yield his will completely to God's will. He wanted nothing of himself to keep God from doing in him what he wanted. Jesus also submitted to the Father's will.

Because I have ADD (or is it ADHD?), I have developed all kinds of systems to keep my on track each day. While praying through my prayer requests spreadsheet the other day, God assured me of something especially encouraging to this easily distracted guy.
