In the midst of kind of a low mood, this cozy fantasy romance (with just a dash of fae machinations) was everything I could have hoped for. What was my final rating? Listen to find out! Just a short one this week. Even though I don't usually read YA, I couldn't pass up a fantasy book about a Black mermaid based on African folklore. What did I ultimately think? Listen to find out! This book bamboozled me! Though not actually a fantasy, despite it's marketing, The Last Tale of the Flower Bride is a fairy tale influenced gothic story about co-dependency and the lies we tell ourselves to maintain a comfortable fiction.
