How do you arrive at "knowing" what God is speaking? What is your pattern of arriving at a clear place of receiving what He is saying, however it comes? We must know and then, with discernment and humility, determine how we arrive at receiving the word of the Lord in our lives. 

This is the conclusion of our unearthing what biblical freedom really is. Despite the error that broad-way American Christianity teaches, there must be an exchange into the yoke of Christ. We were created to be within a yoke. Being found within the "easy yoke" of Jesus is true freedom.

I continue to explore what we perceive to be freedom. I'll begin to look into the primary differences between biblical freedom and national freedom. If any of us are truly desiring to follow the teachings of Jesus more than simply being a good "Christian American", we must know the difference.

Yesterday was Independence Day in this nation. As I prayed and examined the Scriptures for clarity on matters in regards to our misunderstanding of what that truly means, this short series emerged. What is freedom? What is liberty? What is independence and should we even desire it?

As those who desire to live according to the things of the spirit, we cannot simply go by what we see on the surface. We must examine the soil of our lives and all of the components that went into bringing the fruit to readiness. Are we willing to labor in the field of our lives instead of seek out a quick and easy harvest? This episode discusses that examination.

This segment wraps up the series. I'll look into how I see Hezekiah and the people of Judah as all of us. There is hope for us if we remember and return, despite our generational rebellion. We'll see this in the wrap-up of King Hezekiah's life and reign.

The series continues as we examine how we have been like the people of Judah in Hezekiah's day. We too must return, remember and once again usher in worship and sacrifice unto the Lord. 

In this part of the series we look at how Hezekiah had many "Messiah-esque" characteristics in how he stood in as mediator on behalf of the people. He called them out via repentance and into becoming a godly people again, rightly consecrated to approach Yahweh. 

The series continues as we see how Hezekiah immediately tended to declaring the call for the land of Judah to return to the LORD. How did they respond? What does it mean for us?

I have FINALLY got around to recording the Hezekiah series that I've been talking about for weeks. I have found it to be really transformative in my life, as I strive to see myself and my household within the present-day People of God on the earth.

In this episode I share about the present demand upon my life, in response to what God has done for and in me. We must be a people who see the obligation to respond with action, that originates in our hearts of thankfulness.

I was recently asked, "Joel, what is the Kingdom of God and how do we actually 'build' it?" Today, I give a simple 2-fold response off the top of my head. We'll be looking into this in much greater detail soon, but this is an overview. 

Although my intention was to record some light-hearted commentary on several somewhat comical thoughts, I ended up going pretty serious pretty fast. In this episode I land primarily on the weighty responsibility of godly parenting.

I recently heard the phrase "hybrid worship" in regards to how we as people often juggle worshiping Yahweh with worshiping other gods. This topic came up on a recent drive so I wanted to share some thoughts on the matter.

So... how do you like being wrong? Or even possibly considering that anything you might believe might be off. I think we could all work on having a better response. This I believe, would ultimately lead us to discovering, and walking in, more truth.

If there's a biblical quality and ability that is seemingly one of the most elusive, it's patience. Our patience deficiency is much more than just a cultural issue of our day, it's a human disorder. It's my hope in this episode to challenge us all to give ourselves to become a people established in patience.

In this episode I discuss several of the very limiting mindsets that we often establish in modern Christianity. I believe that if we step back and examine many of our doctrines and approaches to spiritual maturity, we tend to only seek after meeting/attaining the minimum requirement. Let's change that, shall we?
