Online House of Prayer

Spend a minute or two reading each line of this psalm and reflecting on it. All your anxieties will fade away as you rest in the knowledge that you are in the loving care of the Good Shepherd.

If you have received the gift of salvation, would you not want to see others saved, especially those you love? What are you doing about it?

Scripture speaks of at least five crowns that await the believer when they reach heaven. Do you know what they are? How many of them do you think you will receive? 

Do you trust God? If yes, do you worry? Do you realize the inherent contradiction because if we trust God how can we worry? 

Are you conscious, like David was, that you might be guilty of hidden sins? If yes, how can you become aware of them?

Are you as enthusiastic in your expression of gratitude to God as David is, or do you take the victories he gives you for granted?

It is natural to want vengeance agains those who hurt us, but Paul offers some wonderful advice. “Do good to those who are bad to you. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do you see the logic in this?

St. Augustine once said: "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you." Is your heart restless, or have you found rest?

Do you wish to ascend to God's holy mountain? Here's the checklist. You should be blameless, righteous, truthful, steadfast, generous, and honest. How do you fare

Do you lament the evil in the world? How much do you contribute towards it? God is inviting you to change your ways and consequently change the world. What do you say?

Our enemies are not always people. Often, they are situations we face as we journey through life. How will you overcome them? God will make the way. 

Have the words of people hurt you? Take assurance in the words of God instead, who promises us many things, including his peace that surpasses all understanding. Do WE hurt people with OUR words?

The world might mock your faith, but do you believe the upright will see the face of God? Consequently, will you remain pure in heart?

Do you wonder why the wicked seem so successful while you, who try to please God, struggle? Take heart. The Lord is coming back soon.

As David said, the nations have fallen into the pit they have dug, and are dragging humanity along with them. Will you despair, or will you take refuge in the Lord?

Do you realize that we are mere specs in a universe with a billion galaxies containing a trillion stars and planets? Yet, God cares for us. How does that make you feel?

When people slander you, do you try to confront your accusers, trying to prove they are wrong, or do you go to God, trusting him to vindicate you? 

Are you facing a situation that fills you with dread and despair? You can allow yourself to sink into depression, or you can turn your eyes to the Lord. What are you going to do? 

Do you seek the downfall of your enemies, or do you wish that they experience the mercy of God as we have? 

When God disciplines us so that we may share in his holiness, do we rebel against him, or do we accept the correction in humility, knowing we will soon reap a harvest of righteousness and peace? 

When you face overwhelming odds, do you look at God for rescue, totally trusting he will, or do you look for other human-empowered solutions?

Are you becoming cold because of the increase of wickedness around you, or do you believe the Lord will soon make everything right and take refuge in him

What kind of person would you like to be? Someone who is like a tree planted by streams of water, ever fruitful? Or someone who is like the chaff blown about by the wind? You decide.
