Emily and Andrew have entered the second half of POLICE SQUAD (in color) and discovered maybe these types of projects work better as ninety-minute movies. Though they are very impressed with the guy who's not back in the NAKED GUN.

Emily and Andrew finally hit the first problematic POLICE SQUAD, albeit--thankfully--briefly, unless you want to talk about delightful (albeit exploited) primate actors, who also figure into this quite funny episode. The pod also required extra editing from Emily because of fire alarms; she saved you from the beeps, but not from Andrew's ad-libbing.

Emily and Andrew head to Cleveland for the big fight! Or is it Cincinnati? Regardless, listen as they discuss the second episode of POLICE SQUAD, directed by Joe Dante and co-wrriten by Robert Wuhl, which has a lot less Leslie Nielsen showcases, but still works out.  

Emily and Andrew head into the Season 4, Act 2, Yankees 4: Police Squad, the original "brilliant but cancelled." Listen as they discuss terrible white men doing great work in the eighties, comedy timing, good writing, and all the things they haven't been able to talk about for ages on this pod!

Emily and Andrew have reached the end of Morton & Hayes, expecting to find the Red Skull waiting to throw one of them off a mountain (blowhardy Emily hasn't seen it, no spoiler). Instead, they once again find Rob Reiner grating, Bob Amarel underutilized, and Kevin Pollak disappointing. What about the guest stars? Buckle up....

Emily and Andrew reach the penultimate "M&H" with some hard truths about Christopher Guest's direction, Rob Reiner's sense of humor, shows poorly executing trope standards, and surprise good (and bad) acting.

Emily and Andrew head out of Hong Kong Bay to the island of Ooloo the Giant, happy to sing and dance along the heroes, be not underwhelmed wtih guest starring friend Courteney Cox, but still suffer the double hits of Christopher Guest.

Emily and Andrew are pleasently surprised with the second episode, a riff on old Universal Monster movies, with great guest stars and, of course, some excellent Kevin Pollak.

Join Emily and Andrew as they break through the bounds of their contemporary confinement and journey back to 1991, when Rob Reiner, Michael McKean, and Christopher Guest thought it'd be a good idea to do a NAKED GUN-style spoof of old comedy shorts. Listen as they discuss charming hosts, familiar guest stars, and constant anachronisms. 

In the season finale, Emily and Andrew close the holographic book on AUTOMAN, the apparently partially true story of a Hollywood megastar's son and his imaginary friend. They also talk about Heather McNair's gradual improvement, the captain's drinking, the confounding mystery, and the wanting special effects. And, of course, Cursor.

With one episode of Automan (and Onesies's season three) to go, Emily and Andrew discover the show still does have some surprises in store. Surprises, bad acting, reused footage, a strange confession from one of our hosts, and then some musings on possiblities for a remake.

As Automan: Season One (and Onesies: Season Three) wind down, Emily is inconsolable after multiple Auto-disappointments this episode, though Andrew manages to cheer her up with some talk about "enthusiastic" Cursor, Lee Pace for some reason, and Roxanne's surprising story arc.

Lights, camera, Automan! Join Emily and Andrew as they discuss Auto and Cursor's potential Hollywood fame, bad guest stars (and a good one), how Robert Lansing's become the show's greatest asset, and how unfair Michelle Phillips gets treated.

Running after Auto and Wally, Emily and Andrew gotta get them somehow as they watch this early eighties time capsule guest starring pop star Laura Branigan! Listen as we see Auto in his honkytonk disco suit, watch Wally do kung fu, enjoy Cursor's baking, and much more.

Emily and Andrew get their holographic motors runnin' and head out on the highway, lookin' for Wally and Automan's adventures, and whatever comes their way. Listen as they head to Bishop, Arizona, where actually recognizable guest stars terrorize the show's heroes and force Automan to prove why he's a real wild one. On his dirt bike.

Emily and Andrew are off to a 1983 computer convention where Wally and Automan discover not all computer nerds are well-meaning. Listen as Emily warms to Lt. Jack, Andrew compliments a car chase, and other oddities occur.

Emily and Andrew struggle to stay awake through a magical but not magical AUTOMAN. There's no Lt. Jack being kidnapped, there's no Auto-romance, there's not even naughty Cursor. Instead, it's just the too real tale of dirty cops hurting people. Oh, and tennis. There's tennis.

Join Emily and Andrew as they discuss another episode of AUTOMAN! But one where Desi Arnez Jr. doesn't just whine the whole time, Automan falls in love (with a guest starring, not Southern Delta Burke), the villains are all unrecognizable and acting poorly, and the car chases are inept and tedious! Emily, Andrew, Auto, and Wally are off on a Carribean vacation, complete with inappropriate patois! Not from Emily or Andrew (or even Cursor). Listen as they discuss off-screen dating, power grids, bad friends, helpless old white men who still manage to catch the eye of too good for them ladies, and much more!

Okay, y'all, Cursor got angry Andrew called him a sex pest and caused some technical difficulties. We got through them though. #cursorsajerk. As for the episode, Emily and Andrew discuss bad weddings, legitimate stars' jerky kids, and successful energy discharges!

Emily and Andrew discover Chuck Wagner is too sexy for his shirt and auto-car while he's disco dancing. Listen as they discover the (relative) charms to shorter AUTOMAN episodes, even though it's still sexist af.

Season three premiere! Emily and Andrew take their turns at 90 degrees this season with the 1983 ABC sci-fi procedural AUTOMAN, created by Glen A. Larson, starring Chuck Wagner as Automan and Desi Arnaz Jr. as his human creator and sidekick. Listen as Andrew blames Emily for picking the show, they discuss Chuck Wagner having a very good voice actually, and the very bad acting.
