One Hope Community Church

We are joined by guest preacher, Bill Bosker, as we dive into Colossians 3:1-4. We are encouraged to fix our minds heavenwards, with affects all our choices and priorities on earth, as well as giving us the hope and perseverance that God isn't finished with us yet.

We are joined by guest preacher, Reuben Capill, who shared on Psalm 88, one of the darkest Psalms in the Bible. When troubles are near, and God seems far, we are encouraged to cry out to God, cling to Jesus and know that it is okay, to not be okay.

Generate is our monthly night service, aimed at young people and run by our young adult team. We kick-off our theme of Greater, by exploring the theme of Knowing God, and how that is the greatest adventure of our lives.

Over the long weekend, Andrew lead us through Ephesians 3:14-21 and encouraged us to not just 'do discipleship' but to 'be disciples'. The first call for our discipleship is that we know Jesus, and continue to grow in Him.

We wrap up our Jonah series by looking at the final chapter, where God interacts with Jonah, helping him to understand the love and compassion that God has for all people, including our enemies.

As we lead into our annual Firstfruits offering, Andrew takes us through the Bible to see the blessing & fruit of our giving, and how we partner with God to advance His kingdom.

We continue our series on Jonah, looking at the second and third chapters of the book. We see God's incredible mercy on display, leading Jonah and the Ninevites to repentance.

We dive into the book of Jonah, focusing on the first chapter, where Jonah runs away and sleeps on the ship. We look at what this means for us, in the context of a God who is reaching out to sinners.

Our final message on Hebrews, as we look at Hebrews 12:28 - 13:16 and what this means for our everyday faith and life.

We look at Hebrews 12:1-3, where we encouraged to persevere and run our race, as we focus on Jesus and throw off everything that may hinder us.

We continue our series in Hebrews, looking at chapter 11, the great hall of faith, where the examples of biblical heroes inspire us to live by faith.

Hebrews 10: 19-25

We continue to look at Hebrews 10, this time on the invitation to Hold Fast. We have a tendency to drift and fall away, especially through the ups and downs of life. We are encouraged instead to Hold Fast to a firm and solid anchor, the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

We wrap up 2018 by thanking God together for all He has done. We begin a mini-series looking at Hebrews 10:19-25, where we are invited to Draw Near. Jesus has done all the work, so we have confidence to draw near. What could be more important as we look into the new year?

Our Christmas Day service continued on the theme we have been looking at over last month at our kids service and carols event, Harmony. We look at how Jesus heals and restores relationships, bringing people together and encouraging us to live out our diverse lives in love and unity.

We wrap up our advent series on the last Sunday before Christmas, looking at the final chapter of Ruth, and how we celebrate and have joy because of the redemption we have in Christ!

We continue our advent series, looking at the second and third chapters of Ruth. We see the generosity and kindness of Boaz, pointing to the cost of redemption. We, too, have this hope through Jesus, that a costly redemption has taken place and we are now His.

We celebrate the year and Christmas, as our children ministry takeover the service. Scott Penna, our children's ministry leader, shares from God's Word about 'harmony' and how we live peacefully with the people around us, despite the differences and difficulties we face.

We start our Advent series, leading up to Christmas by looking at the book of Ruth. We turn to chapter one, where we see the bitterness of the situation for Ruth and Naomi hold a glimmer of hope.

We welcome guest speaker, Tim Meyers, principal at Melbourne School of Theology. He shares from Hebrews 11:8-16 about the nature of faith, and how we can live for God.

This week, one of our elders, John Schout, looks at the sin of pride and how it affects our lives and, importantly, how it can subtly creep into our lives and remain there without us even realising. Tim Keller describes the influence of pride – “Pride is the carbon-monoxide of sin. It silently and slowly kills you without you even knowing”.

We wrap our year of Generate and our theme of Why, as we look at how God has revealed Himself and His invitation to us to seek Him and discover more as we find Him time and time again.

We conclude our sermons on By the Book and our series on Traits of a Mature Disciple with today's message. Using our text from Matthew 7:24-27 we will consider The Word as our Rock and foundation and how all the traits that we have looked at this year sit on this.

We continue in our series on our last trait of a mature disciple - By the Book and using our text from Psalm 119:105-112 we will consider how The Word is our Guide.

We continue with the second part of our series - By the Book. This week we look at 2 Timothy 3:10-17 and we look at the usefulness of The Word in our lives.
