Being human comes with desires for people to be impressed by us. Whether that is in our spiritual lives or in how we build our lives, the temptation is real. In Matthew 6 we find that Jesus understands this part of being human and teaches us how we might be found faithful in the midst of it.

We've learned that humility is putting others first, thinking of them as more important than ourselves, and looking for their virtues. The problem is, we cannot do this without Christ.

Paul is writing to the Philippians to thank them, yes, but also to teach them how to live among the enemies of God. We've learned we are to think of others more than ourselves, but now we're challenged to do even more.

What is humility, really? Why is it such a big deal in the Bible? And how can it enhance all of our relationships?

In this message we'll look at two mindsets that cause division in our marriages, friendships, churches, and communities. Then, in the final three messages of this series, we will see how the Apostle Paul applies the life and work of Jesus to counter these destructive mindsets.

The cynic we look at in this message is Jesus' own brother. Why did he doubt Jesus' claims, and what made him change?

Our culture seems to be filled with haters, and we can slip into being one too. Saul of Tarsus was a hater who God resurrected to use mightily. Yes, God can do that!

We all know someone who seemed to walk closely with the Lord, but has walked away. Will they ever come back? Can that happen to us?

In this series of messages we'll look at people who, despite thinking they were beyond help, were transformed by Jesus. Yes, some of their stories are in the Bible, but we'll also hear from people who may sit next to you at church.

You can learn a lot about a people if you listen to the songs they create. Each generation and culture has music that reflects it’s values and experiences. At the center of our music is what we adore or even worship. In this section of Exodus we'll look at a song that expressed the heart of Israel to YHWH, and learn how to express our heart to Jesus.

At last we've come to the "exodus" in the book of Exodus. The slaves are leaving Egypt and think they are headed to the Promised Land, but God has other plans for them, and perhaps for us.

What brings back memories for you? A song? A smell? Do you experience the adage "out of sight, out of mind"? God always gave His people touchpoints to help them remember what was important, and He still does that for us.

Just like Israel in Egypt, we can be in bondage, deceived and betrayed. But God's first-born Son, our Passover Lamb, has set us free.

It's easy to want justice for others, but expect grace for ourselves. But should we desire grace and expect justice.

In this passage we'll see how God shows mercy, even in the midst of judgement.

When Moses and Aaron went up against Pharaoh things just worse. So, they tried to quit, but God is teaching them that it's not about them, it's about Him. He wants to reveal Himself through their (and our) obedience. And that's just what we'll see Him do in this message.
