Midpoint #26 - Forrest and Brenton talk about the Story of Pentecost in Acts 2, why and how God moves in our lives, the differences between Acts 2 and 1 Cor. 12 & 14, and then look forward to the sermon about a sermon. 

Acts 2:1-13 - The day of Pentecost was a whirlwind of doctrine, gifts, and power. The Holy Spirit moved in a might way in and through the people of the early church. While we can get caught up in the result of the Holy Spirit moving, we should instead first and foremost choose to praise and focus on God. 

Midpoint #25 - Pastor James and Wesley talk through the conclusion of Acts chapter one, touch upon some heavy topics and questions, and then conclude with a preview to next week's sermon surrounding the day of Pentecost. 

After Jesus ascended into heaven, the group of apostles went into the upper room and chose a replacement for Judas Iscariot. James walks through how it worked, what it looked like, explains the casting lots for Matthias, and then ends with an insightful comparison between Peter and Judas.

Midpoint #23 - So many great questions came from the WB Ruin... Noah's Ark Sunday/Monday service. Thanks for participating, for laughing, for learning with us, for asking such great questions, and for diving deep into the Bible with us. 

The WB Show has morphed into "WB Ruin..." a series where Pastor Wesley and Pastor Brenton ruin the children's version of Noah's ark and help the church to focus on the biblical narrative rather than the watered down, paraphrased version.

Midpoint #22 - Pastor Andrew and Forrest talk through the vision of OCC and answering the call for God's life by saying, "Here I am Lord! Send me." They also lay the foundation for why we do family Sundays. 

When God calls, we should be like the prophet Isaiah and say, "send me, Lord." 

Midpoint #21 - Something new for you all. Pastor Brenton and his wife talk about his sermon on mission. They talk about how to maintain safe boundaries in relationships at work while following the promptings of the Holy Spirit and then leap ahead to talk about the final message in this series, the Vision of OCC (and not the Marvel Avenger either). 

You were not made to be stagnant and complacent in your faith. Our mission is about making disciples who make disciples. It is about transformation; helping LOST people become BELIEVERS become WORKERS become DISCIPLE MAKERS.

Midpoint #20 - Pastors James and Andrew talk through the purpose of Orchards Community Church as well as answer a few questions from the congregation, including how to deal with hurts from church people and maintain relationships.

What is the purpose of the church? Not the universal church, but Orchards Community Church. Pastor James talks us through the importance of relationships, first our vertical relationship with God and then horizontal relationships with one another.

Midpoint #19 - Pastors Forrest and Brenton talk about how to be not just hearers of the word but doers as well and how a perspective grounded in Christ can give you a leg up when planning your 2023 calendar. 

We all need to be hearers of the word AND doers. They both work together. So, as you're planning 2023, do so by being grounded in God's word, hearing truth, and then acting on it. 

Pastors James and Andrew talk about the fourth week of advent and the importance of the idea of home at Christmas, answer some questions from our church body, have some laughs, and encourage you to come to our Christmas Eve service at 3, 5, or 7pm...but not 3pm because it's now full.
