John 5:31-47  Jesus shows that John the Baptist, His works, and the Scriptures all testify that He is the Son sent by the Father, calling people to believe and have life. Philippians 3:10-11  On a day that holds both grief and joy, the empty tomb shows that knowing Christ surpasses all else, his resurrection power sustains us through suffering, and death no longer has the final word. John 3:16-21  At the center of the gospel stands God's love for a sinful world, shown in giving His Son as a saving sacrifice rather than the kind of conqueror people expected. John 1:19-34  John the Baptist defines himself by who he is not and by his role as a voice preparing the way, making clear that he is not the Christ but points beyond himself.
