The first two hours of the show was a tribute for Mother's Day, with all songs by PNW artists about their moms.  Happy Mother's Day, mom! The last hour was the typical third hour--loud and grunge-y. Enjoy. 

This show was a dedication to Everett, WA native Carol Kaye, a bass player on more than 10,000 recordings from Nancy Sinatra to Glen Campbell and Frank Zappa.

It got louder as the three hours progressed.  Tacoma sound in the first hour (albeit with a Stooges cover of Louie Louie by the Kingsmen), contemporary mellow-ish in the second hour, and pretty grungey in the final hour, including a solo Kurt Cobain and a Nirvana song to commemorate the passing of Kurt Cobain 30 years ago.  We're all getting old.

This is a 2.5 hour fill in for another host, so I played a variety of some of my favorites, some of which are included on Notes by NW, some not. 

This was a general interest episode with no particular theme, just some of my favorites with a PNW connection. 

I filled in for another host on Friday, March 16, and here's the show.  The first 2 hours includes a bunch of my musical choices, including the Stones and Jerry Jeff Walker. Enjoy. 

This program includes a composition by Seattle musician Jon Pontrello, who performs a ballad about the sinking of the SS Clallam in the waters between Diamond Point and Whidbey Island 120 years ago this month in which 55 souls perished. Oh, yes, and a bunch of raucous stuff in the third hour.    Everything in balance.  Thanks for listening. 

You'll only hear the music from that show....I was off the air for two months over the holidays and didn't record the live show due to operator error. This was a really fun show, as it included covers of Beatles songs by PNW artists, and the first hour culminated with the debut of the first new Beatles song in decades, Now and Then, which began as a lousy demo by John Lennon in 1978.  Yoko Ono gave it to the surviving Beatles in 1994, and George added some guitar to the Lennon tracks.  But the technology then wasn't like it is today.  Throu...
