Not Another Marriage Podcast

We're back after Christmas with certain questions burning in our brains... How soon is too soon to get married? How long is too long to wait for a proposal? And what about remarriage? We have some speculating to do... let's discuss.

Not that Ben and I lived together or even spent any significant time together before we tied the knot... But we know we are not the same people who started this journey together. Even those who lived together first say that sealing the deal with the marriage vows changes things. Let's discuss!

Sometimes, the holidays are hard. How do you survive- and possibly even thrive during the festive season? For me, it starts with missing a week of podcasting, having an ugly cry, maybe even a fight with my hubby before rallying for a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Another name for this episode could be, "Stop doing these things immediately!" Because let's face it, we've all done them... But first, let's talk about painting the house. What a ride!

How can we bomb proof our relationship against boredom and routine? While we aren't exactly sure how, we are out here making sure when things do get boring and rote, we aren't doing anything stupid like trading in our forty something partner for 2 twenties. Even though Ben finds that hilarious.

Is your spouse your best friend? How do you feel about that?

Apparently, we're pretty satisfied around here. Ben is more satisfied than I am, but mostly I took off points for the nightly CPAP drama. Oh, and I look like Kathy Bates from Misery. Winning?

Woo! We were off to a rough start this day! Let's talk about parenting! To quote my youngest, "isn't this a marriage podcast? Why are you talking about parenting?" Yes, it is. However, often, marriage leads to children. And then we got to talk about it! We're talking about the differences between how we were parented and how we are parenting. Let's discuss!

It's been a wild few weeks here...there are a lot of factors that influence your marriage- and trauma is one of ours. So Ben sincerely asked me this morning, "How do you stay married to me?" and apologized for me being "stuck" with him. News flash- I'm not stuck anywhere. Neither of us are. We make a conscious choice daily to choose each other and this marriage. So we're going to talk about it!

I'm Sad About Hugh Jackman & Deborra-Lee Furness. They seemed so solid... it makes me wonder if any marriage can survive? Can my marriage survive? And we also discuss our most recent date and a fun date activity!
