We are called to live our lives worthy of the gospel we proclaim. Our confession is our commitment & conduct. If our lives don’t match our confession, it’s probably because we do not believe the confession. This morning we will look at what it means to live a manner of life worthy of the gospel.

It is amazing to see how many sources the average person will consult when faced with making a decision and where they turn first. God wants us to make wise decisions. He wants us to follow His guidance. Proverbs 3:5-6 shares a simple formula for living a successful life.

In Psalm 80 we hear the plea of a patriot of Israel who cries out for God to retore his nation and bring his blessing. Though he was a patriot and loved his country, he was also a man of God, and therefore burdened for his country. He was in a situation then much as we are in today.

About every five years, I share this message as a reminder of who we are to be as church. The act of Christ was meant to display the heart of Christ and the mission of Christ for His followers. A simple, yet profound lesson for all believers is found in John 13.

How can we make a difference in this world and in the lives of those we love? We can make a difference by showing the Father’s heart to those around us. When we show His heart, we make the gospel personal and believable for them.

From a biblical point of view, Lord's Supper has deep theological and spiritual meaning. Jesus tells His disciples that they are to observe this ordinance in remembrance of Him. It is a time to remember what Jesus did for us, and every time we take it, we proclaim the death and return of our Lord.

After years of war and conquest the land of Canaan is finally under the control of the people of Israel. Now with the fighting at an end, the work of dividing up the Promised Land between the remaining tribes had to be done. Caleb, the Kenizzite, an eighty-five year old warrior, steps forward to claim what is rightfully his by God’s promise. He’s waited forty-five years for his reward.

Saying “Goodbye” recognizes that something we value and consider essential to who we are, is ending. Saying goodbye is difficult, but it is necessary in our walk with Christ, our relationships with each other, and our own personal growth.

The time has come to test the skills of the eaglet! I’m certain there is great apprehension on the part of the parents. But it is imperative that they do their part to send their offspring into the world to fulfill their purpose.

Mothers want to be liked but will sacrifice that for creating successful adults. Moses likens God’s care for us to that of a mother eagle preparing her eaglets to soar. There are many lessons we can learn from God’s scripture picture that can have great impact on our lives..

The prophet Micah ministered during the reign of three different kings. During his time as God’s prophet, he saw God take a people suffering in a moral disaster and raise them through a spiritual revival. Micah witnessed that which only God could accomplish.

Jesus was coming “in the name of the Lord” and was the legitimate “King of Israel.” He was the heir of David, and the Messiah. But the Jewish people had prepared their own agenda for their Messiah long before Jesus came on the scene. While it may seem so strange to us that these could not properly understand His purpose, it is the same today.

It is God who calls and equips believers for His purpose; therefore, believers must learn to submit to the call and purpose of God.

In many of the circumstances we face, we can't control the clock or other people. In reality, God has integrated such difficulties in our lives as a means to reveal Himself to us.

To experience our new life in Christ, we must cease responding to the old man so we can become new in Him. The command of this passage is the challenge to become what we have been empowered to be. We have the marks of a new creation on us.

The miracles of Jesus were often single events that happened immediately. However, here we see a man whose healing occurred in stages. Miracles in our lives certainly may require time as Jesus guides us to healing or blessing.
