Almost half of all the speeding prosecutions that came before Ireland’s courts in a three-year period did not proceed any further. That’s according to a new analysis by The Journal Investigates.  Are we doing enough to prosecute speeding? Anton asked Shane O’Donoghue Editor of Completecar.ie.

Tuam has become the first town in County Galway to establish a fine for drinking alcohol in public. The fine, which can be enforced by a community warden or An Garda Síochána, starts at €75 and must be paid within 21 days. Failure to do so will see the penalty increase to €150. Anton discusses this with Shaun Cunniffe, Independent Ireland Councillor for Tuam .

Ireland’s paternity leave system is failing families, with dads losing nearly three-quarters of their income to take just two weeks off after the birth of their child. Oil prices have been falling in the aftermath of the announcement of a peace deal in the Iran war and with fuel supports announced earlier in the Spring due to expire at the end of next month.
