The Government is insisting its new €53 million jet can operate without restrictions. Tougher action is needed against ‌migrant smuggling networks after about 72,000 migrants entered Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta last week. To discuss further with Anton was Amnesty International’s Deputy Regional Director for Europe, Dinushika Dissanayak.

Barnardos have launched their annual “Back to School”. Parents of students starting secondary school are paying some of the highest average costs at €1,240.   Speaking to Anton about the report findings was Stephen Moffatt, Barnardos National Policy Manager.

A SpaceX Falcon Nine rocket is supposed to have crashed into moon. The rocket launched last year and was found to be on a collision course with the moon after its launch. We get the latest on this with Niall Smith, Head Of Research Of Munster Technological University And Head Of Blackrock Castle Observatory.

Louth Councillors have backed calls for the Government to introduce a Waste Collection Allowance. Labour Senator Laura Harmon will today launch a bill aiming to stop student accommodation providers from circumventing rent controls by ensuring all extra fees are included in the rent. For more on this, Anton was joined by Daniel Walsh, President of AMLÉ, the Irish Students Union.

If we’re serious about hitting EV targets, we need to become more flexible about the kind of chargers people can use for their cars.  That’s according to Naoise Ó Muirí, Fine Gael TD for Dublin Bay North and Chair of the Oireachtas Climate Committee. Naoise discussed further with Anton.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino is facing growing pressure as the English FA prepares to withdraw its support for his leadership. The move follows a row over plans to bring private investment into FIFA competitions, with UEFA threatening legal action.  Anton discusses this further with John Brewin, Sportswriter with the Guardian and host of the Football Weekly podcast .  

Plans to build the State’s largest town of 18,500 homes at Dunsink in north Dublin is facing almost 400 objections from locals    Olivia Kelly, journalist with the Irish Times brought us the details.

EU Justice Ministers will meet today over videolink to address last week’s migrant crisis in Ceuta. Hosting the meeting, Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan will seek to “re-emphasise solidarity and unity at the heart of the European project”.  Anton discusses this further with Jeanna Smialek, Brussels Bureau Chief for the New York Times and also Simon Hunter, a Freelance Journalist in Spain . &...

Eoghan and Ruairí Chada were murdered by their father, Sanjeev Chada, 13 years ago. Chada was sentenced to two life sentences in 2014. After serving 12 years in prison, has now become eligible for parole.   Eoghan and Ruairí Chada’s mother, Kathleen Chada joined Anton this morning.
