As oil prices continue to rise and fall almost in tune with Donald Trump’s every word we ask when we are going to see our own fuel prices drop? But even though costs shot up once the war started, you won’t see them go down as quick if the conflict ends. Anton discusses this with Kevin McPartlan Chief Executive of Fuels for Ireland. 

Counting has been ongoing in most English local council elections overnight and it has not been a good night for Labour who have currently lost almost two hundred seats, with Reform gaining over two hundred and fifty. A number of leading figures within the League of Ireland along with a former Ireland manager have signed an open letter urging the FAI to refuse to play Israel in the upcoming UEFA Nations League. Among the signatories is former League of Ireland manager Roddy Collins. 

Ted Turner, the creator of news network CNN, has died at the age of 87. You might not know much about him, but if you’ve ever consumed any news whatsoever in the 21st century, you have Ted Turner to thank.  To chat about his legacy was Dr Niamh Sammon, Assistant Lecturer and Programme Chair of the BA in Journalism at TU Dublin. 

European Movement Ireland’s Island of Ireland EU Poll 2026 has show a decline in Irish people’s satisfaction with the direction of the EU. Anton discussed these findings with David Geary, CEO of European Movement Ireland. 

The Irish Heart Foundation and its Action on Smoking and Health Council is calling on the Government to follow the UK in passing legislation banning the sale of tobacco products to anyone born after January 1, 2009. Anton discusses this further with Professor Emmet O’Brien, Chair of ASH Ireland.

Data shows Ireland still lagging on salary transparency, this is according to new research from Indeed. Anton discusses the research findings with  Jack Kennedy, Senior Economist at Indeed Hiring Lab.

Meta, TikTok, Snap, Google and Microsoft are all before the Oireachtas Committee on Children and Equality this morning to discuss the safety and wellbeing of children online. It follows weeks of meetings, including hearing from young people directly and Cathaoirleach of the Committee, Fine Gael’s Keira Keogh is with me in studio  

The regional government of the Canary Islands said it is opposed to allowing a ship that has been hit by the outbreak of the deadly hantavirus to dock on the archipelago. We get the latest with Graham Keely, Freelance journalist in Spain .

The Labour Party have tabled a Bill that would ban no-fault evictions for three years. To discuss further Anton was Conor Sheehan Labour TD for Limerick City and the party’s housing spokesperson. 

Israel’s military has carried out strikes in Beirut, the first strike on the Lebanon’s capital since their ceasefire went into force in April. President Trump and Iran have both talked positively about progress on efforts to end the war. Anton gets the latest with Bel Trew, The Independent's Chief International Correspondent.

Jordan Adams is in the middle of running 33 marathons in 33 days with his brother Cian to raise funds and awareness of dementia. A big milestone mark has been achieved and Jordan spoke to Anton.

Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has called for early morning drinking in airports to be banned, saying it is causing a worsening problem with unruly passenger behaviour. At the moment, there are no explicit limits at Irish airports on the consumption of alcohol. To discuss further Anton spoke to Eoghan Corry, Editor of TravelExtra. 

The Norwegian flagged cruise ship which is currently dealing with an outbreak of hantavirus, will dock at the Canary Islands in the coming days. The ship will be met with medical teams upon their arrival. Speaking to Anton was Shauna Bowers, Health Correspondent for the Irish Times.
