Our prayer for you during this season is JOY. Take some time this week to look around and find joy as you see God at work in the people close to you. Merry Christmas, Newsong!

Jimmy Bae led us into our Advent series with this message on PEACE – all of us need this right now! As we close out 2020, praying that you feel a peace beyond understanding in the midst of it all.

Abe brought the perfect passage for us during this time. Psalm 95 was originally a song for the new year. As we look ahead to 2021, hopefully we can relate to God’s people who were returning from exile, filled with thanksgiving, and grateful for their freedom. "His presence is our reward."

For anyone who's tired of the same old church language on Sunday, hopefully hearing Dave G. use the word “magnanimous” felt refreshing. We’re called to be generous in every way: with finances, with our time, and with forgiveness – defending the one who has committed a wrong and showing our love for them.

Jennifer Koh is a law professor, attorney, and member of the Newsong community with expertise in immigration law. Hope her words inspire us to be brave as we identify with and expand our community to include those who have experienced injustice.

Dave G. shares about the disciples' experience on the road to Emmaus, and how Jesus met them in the middle of their uncertainty. Looking forward to our own divine encounter as we walk together.

Shane Claiborne with some perfectly timed words for Election Day. "Our hope is not in the donkey of the Democrats or the elephant of the GOP. Our hope is in the lamb." May our choices reflect God's upside down kingdom as we pledge allegiance to Jesus as King.
