Ask a Trek Expert with Marc Scott Zicree! "First Contact" is considered one of the best episodes of TNG ever made, and "Far Beyond the Stars" is considered one of the best episodes of DS9 ever made, perhaps all of Star Trek. And Marc Scott Zicree wrote the story for BOTH of them! He's also had a very long writing career before and after that, including working on many beloved animated shows like H...

All Good Things... must come to an end. Well, not the podcast, in fact we'll eventually be going through three shows at once: continuing DS9, starting Voyager, and livestreaming our discussions of TOS! But for now, our journey with TNG has come to an end. And what better way to end this crazy ride with a timey-wimey episode that jumps back and forth so wildly that that it would make Kurt Vonnegut...

Crossover! The episode that activated a legion of Star Trek fans. What's better than one Kira? Well, two Kiras, of course! Both get you early access to new episodes, access to the private Newbie Star Trek Discord, and a bunc...

Emergence! Well, pretty much everyone on the Enterprise-D has had some sort of parent-related storyline this season. So why not have the Enterprise-D itself also finally have parent issues? That's right, the Enterprise-D is pregnant! And the holodeck is involved somehow. Discuss.   We have a YouTube Membership and a Patreon! Both get you early access to new episodes, access to the private Newbie S...

The Wire! A really bad headache leads to Garak finally opening up to Bashir about his past. Except he really doesn't since pretty much every single thing he says is a lie. So it's basically a bunch of lies with a bunch of accidental slips of truth, and by the end even Bashir's a little sick and tired of it. But what do we think?! Tune in to find out!   We have a YouTube Membership and a Patreon! B...

Bloodlines! So now that Picard's de facto son Wesley has left the show for good, he gets a new fake son, the main guy from Robocop rip-off Super Force. The Maquis, Part II! So, we're not gonna sugarcoat it, the actual best part of this episode is Sisko giving his famous "saint in paradise" speech, but other than that, uuuh... let's just say that the main antagonist got so annoying that even Michael Piller was like, "yeah, we should've killed him off."   We have a YouTube Membership and a Patreon! Both get you early access to new episodes, access...

Firstborn! The one where Worf's parenting got so bad that Alexander had to go back in time to become his own better dad. But then that didn't work so he decided to shoot himself. Boy, that escalated quickly.    We have a YouTube Membership and a Patreon! Both get you early access to new episodes, access to the private Newbie Star Trek Discord, and a bunch of other perks! The Maquis, Part I! TNG creates the problem, and DS9 has to fix it. That's right, the Cardassian border dispute that Captain Picard thought they had resolved in Journey's End turns into a bigger problems for the actual colonists in DS9. Surely Sikso's old friend that shows up in this episode won't end up being secretly part of the Federation resistance movement named after the French Resistance du...

Journey's End! Y'know, the idea of Wesley quitting Starfleet because he wants to pursue his own path in life is actually kind of a neat idea for a TNG episode. It's just too bad that it's wrapped up with weird American Indian cultural appropriation and, uh, an overall kinda bad script.    We have a YouTube Membership and a Patreon! Both get you early access to new episodes, access to the private N...

Profit and Loss! What happens when the writers of DS9 do a straight-up rip-off of Casablanca using Garak, Quark, and Quark's long-lost Cardassian lover? Playing God! Dax gets an intern, and he's working really hard for a good letter of recommendation for the Trill joining program. How quaint. Also, there's a pocket universe on DS9 that threatens to expand and destroy the entire star system. Huh. Also, Jake is dating a Dabo girl. Wow! All of these are treated with the same level of importance. Yes.    We have a YouTube Membership and a Patreon! Bot...

Star Trek: Resurgence! The fellas who used to work for Telltale Games decided to make their own game, with Tongo and Dabo girls! But, basically, they decided to take that one terrible TNG episode that introduced the Ferengi and then turn that old guy who shows up in it into the sickest Star Trek guy ever. Also, Spider-Man is here! Whoa! And other cameos! It's a Star Trek fanfic come to life! April...
