Our culture has a definite view of 'judgment' - it condemns it! But is that what Christ taught us? Is that what He meant when He said, "Judge not"? This Sunday, we're exploring the Scriptures to get a better picture of what exactly we're called to when it comes to 'judgment.'

Anxiety and stress reveal something to us the way a warning light on your dashboard reveals a problem under the hood. Your anxiety is telling you something....But what's it saying?

Out of all the things we make time for every day are we prioritizing prayer like Jesus did? In Matthew 6:7-15 we are taught not only how to pray by Jesus but also to value and honor the One we are praying to. If there is one thing that makes the enemy tremble- it is prayer.

Matthew 6:1-18. Who do you live to please? Who are you when nobody is watching? Towards what reward are you striving after? When your audience is the One to Whom everything was meant to point towards, the questions don't only get answered- but lived out. 

As modern-day Christians, how do we view the law? How should we view the law? What does the Old Testament mean for us in the present? Jesus' answer in Matthew 5:17-32 shows us how we are to honor the law and how we are to see what His sacrifice means for where we are in relation to the law. 

In the most famous sermon preached Jesus clarifies the blessed life we are intended to live as opposed to the life we see lived out in the world around us. Continuing on in Matthew in chapter 5, verses 5-13, we see what "right-side-up living" looks like and how that will look in an upside-down world. 

From Matthew 5:1-10, The Beatitudes call us into the realization of what the blessed life looks like along with how Jesus works on people- through their heart. Pastor Ben explains these to us with applications throughout scripture and shows how upside-down the teachings of Jesus are compared to what the world teaches.  

When it comes to the topic of the Kingdom of Heaven, we can quickly read over it without stopping to pause at what that Kingdom looks like as opposed to what earthly kingdoms look like. Our scripture for this Sunday was Matthew 2:1-11. We focused on who the wisemen were and how their reactions to the news of the coming Christ set them apart from the multitudes- which should be said of us as well. 

How can we have courage in what we believe if we don't hold fast to the truth of what we believe? And how can we take courage in times of great disorientation when all isn't going as we have planned? Both of these questions find their answers in the Word of God and what He has given us by the gift of His Son.

This Sunday we kick off our new sermon series on the study of Matthew starting in chapter 1:1-17; The Genealogy of Jesus Christ. Through this record of the origin of Jesus, we can see that God is not limited by broken people or a broken history to bring His glory into fruition. He is faithful to bring us to Him despite our shortcomings.

What does it look like for us to seek and and do justice? What does it look like? This Sunday we are in Luke 10:25-37 and Micah 6:8 and learn from the Good Samaritan what it looks like to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God.

God loves justice, in fact, His throne is founded on righteousness and justice (Psalm 89:14). In His Word it reveals that justice and righteousness go hand-in-hand, when we value one without the other we no longer are acting in accord with either. 

Our Father, the Creator of all, created us in His image. So, as Christians we need to weep with our brothers and sisters, who have all been made in the same image, and look not look with partiality but with equality of love for God shows no partiality (Romans 2:11). Today's scripture comes from James 2:1-13.

Unity can only be found by people who practice and cherish Christ’s attitude of humility and submission and that will lead to suffering. Christ emptied himself, changing his setting, changed his social class, he surrendered his riches for poverty, and he exchanged comfort. What are you being called to do? What kind of change is He calling for your life?

This week our sermon scripture is 1 Corinthians 2:1-5. Pastor Aaron asks the question, "Is unity possible?" During times like these it's hard to know how we can be unified as a church, a community, or even a nation; they all look quite bleak. But when we look to scripture we can find hope in the Word of our living God. 

This Sunday we are in Matthew 24:12&13 and looking at what God has to say about times like these when lawlessness seems to continue to spread and love is lacking. What is the reaction of the church and God's people?

This Sunday, we continue in our 'God Is' series as we search to know more about God through what He reveals to us in His word. We explore what the gospel is and how we can be quick to make God to fit what our expectations are rather than taking Him at His word and our tendency to set our hearts and minds on the greatness of Heaven rather than the greatness of our God. 

The love the Father has for the Son has been lavished on us as believers through the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ- so what does that mean for us? How can we display that to others?
