When we hear the word 'authority', we can recoil at the thought of a dictatorial leader that heartlessly imposes his will on those in his or her charge. As Jesus concludes his Sermon on the Mount, he aims to bring his hearers to a decision. But apparently not everyone who calls Jesus their Lord is actually a Christian. How do we discern if we are truly saved?

Many of us have difficult relationships with our earthly fathers. As fathers in this fallen world, we admit that we fail in so many ways - we're distant, we're harsh, we desert. And that may cause you to disregard our heavenly Father. This Sunday, we'll look at how Jesus describes a better relationship with a Father that longs for conversation with us and won't disappoint.
