God promises to give Christians wisdom from above if we will but ask Him for it. This is not a download of the encyclopedia to our brains. Heavenly wisdom is the ability to understand God's precepts so that we live in a way that pleases Him.

Mankind can tame an enormous elephant more easily than we can tame our tiny tongues. It is something beyond our ability to do. However, we can, and should, control it.

We need to control our speech. This is incredibly difficult to do, but it is a sign of Christian maturity. Join with us as we look at some truths about the tongue.

Critics of Scripture and Christianity take any opportunity they can to try to disparage or cast doubt on Scripture. One of the ways they do this is by pointing to seeming contradictions, such as appears in today's text.
