Wes Swarthout teaches from James 1:1-6 and encourages us to choose joy in the midst of difficulty. He shares the sorrowful yet inspiring story of Horatio Spafford, who wrote the hymn "It is Well with my Soul" and helps us to see the difference between emotional happiness and the work of God-derived joy.

Waymond Hampton teaches from the story of Abraham found in Genesis 12 through 15. He encourages us to move from belief to faith. We do this by leaning our full weight on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who are continually revealing themselves to us so that we can KNOW them and be convinced of their faithfulness.

Bo Noonan teaches from Hebrews 8:1-7, where we get a beautiful picture of what Jesus is doing now that he is ascended to be with his Father. As an epilogue to our Mark series we see that Jesus is still at work on our behalf and that his finished work gives us great confidence in our position as his children.

Terry Virgo, a true friend and spiritual father to NCC, teaches on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus ascended to be with the Father, he promised that one just like him would come and be IN his disciples. This teaching works through scripture to help clarify and lead us into being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Terry Virgo teaches through Exodus 4 where we see Moses second-guessing God's calling on his life to be a leader of God's people. In looking at the life of Moses we can find truth about ourselves and God's love for us as his people, his chosen possession.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 16:9-20, which most scholars believe to be an added bit of encouragement for future readers of the letter. Bo gives some scholarly context to these verses and calls out their biblical encouragement to be equipped by Jesus for the mission he has called us to.

Andy Cooley teaches through Mark 16:1-13 where the forces of life and death collide in Jesus. In him, we see the reverse of the curse of sin unravel. Because Jesus was without sin, death had no right to him, and when we are found in him, it no longer has a right to us.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 15:21-47 where we see Jesus led to his crucifixion, abandonment, and death upon the cross. Even in the face of the horrors of human depravity, while hanging between heaven and earth, Jesus continued to care for others and to do the beautiful work of bringing the rule and reign of God to humanity.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 15:1-20 where we find Jesus begin Good Friday. He is handed over the the Roman governor Pilate, who then hands his fate to the Jewish crowd, and ultimately to Roman soldiers to be beaten, mocked, and let to the cross.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 14:43-65 where a scene of utter darkness and chaos accompanies Jesus' betrayal, arrest, and unjust trial before the religious leaders.

Waymond Hampton teaches through Mark 14:32-42 where we find Jesus and the disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane on completely different pages. As the disciples rest contentedly, Jesus fights an intense spiritual battle, which will ultimately reverse the curse of sin that began in another garden with Adam and Eve.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 14:26-31 and 66-72 where we see two scenes that highlight both Peter (and the other disciples') crumbling resolve and Jesus' great grace, even when he knew that betrayal was coming.

Bo Noonan teaches through Luke 18:9-14, where we hear Jesus tell the story of two diametrically opposed figures talking to God - a religious leader and a political traitor. The one whom Jesus calls "right with God" is surprising.

Wes Swarthout teaches through Mark 14:12-25 where Jesus celebrates the Passover with his disciples and institutes the Lord's Supper (also known as Communion).

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 14:1-11. There we see two distinctly different responses to Jesus. The first is a woman who gives away her inheritance to anoint Jesus with costly perfume. The second is Judas's decision to betray Jesus due to what he sees as a waste of resources. One saw Jesus for who he really was, the Messiah, the other saw him as a sham and a waste.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 13:1-37 where Jesus leaves the Temple tells his followers of its coming destruction, which will occur in 66-70AD. In so doing, he prepares them to lead through the midst of difficulty. Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 12:35-44 where Jesus sheds enormous light on the true nature of the Messiah. Just as a lowly widow gives all she has due to her trust to God, the Messiah will all he has as well.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 12:28-34, where Jesus is asked the question, "What is the greatest commandment?" Jesus not only answered the question, but he lived out that answer fully.

Joe Miriello teaches through Mark 12:18-27 where the religious and political leaders once again try to trap Jesus, this time through a misinterpretation of the Law of Moses and questions about resurrection. Jesus again shows his masterful knowledge of the God's Law.

Willy Verduzco from Origen Church in Guadalajara, Mexico, teaches from Mark 12:13-17. There we see the religious leaders trying to trap Jesus through politics so they can do away with him and his teaching. Instead of falling into their trap, Jesus shows them the beauty of a life submitted to God and his rule and reign.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 11:27-12:12 where Jesus is confronted by the religious leaders once again. When asked where he receives his authority to do what he does, Jesus responds with another questions and a pointed parable that reveals deep truths about both the religious leaders and Jesus himself.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 11:12-25, a seemingly confusing passage that shows Jesus' desire for all people in all nations to have access to God the Father. Jesus' "cleansing" of the Temple is given meaning by the simple act of cursing a fig tree.

Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 11:1-10. As Mark slows down to record the last week of Jesus' earthly ministry he gives some seemingly odd details about a donkey and a crowd of people welcoming Jesus to Jerusalem. They aren't random events, but rather a picture of God's sovereignty and Jesus' humility.

Mike Young teaches through Romans 8:1-11 and speaks on our identity as sons of God and breaking agreements with lies we have believed.
