Why do we as Christians care so much about the blood of Jesus? Its ultimately because blood matters in the Christian faith and without the shedding of blood there would be no forgiveness of sins. Jesus' blood is better than the blood shed by animals under the Old Covenant because it is effective at changing one's heart and making them pure.

Jesus' sacrifice of Himself is different. Drastically different than any sacrifice that was given under the Old Covenant and that makes Jesus' sacrifice better. In this sermon from Hebrews 9:11-14 the author demonstrates three ways Jesus' sacrifice is better.

What makes the new covenant better? This question is answered in this sermon from Hebrews 8:6-13 as the author presents three promises that prove it to be better than the old covenant.

There are many reasons we should worship Christ but in this sermon we are going to look at three specific motivations why we as Christians, as followers of Jesus should worship Him in relation to His high priestly role.

The better priest has ushered in a better hope. The Old Testament priests were not able to offer a perfect hope because they were weak and useless but Jesus, who is not a priest based on the legal requirement but was rather instituted as a priest upon his resurrection gives a better and perfect hope.

Now, in Hebrews 6:1-3 the author expounds on what that milk is in the form of elementary doctrines of Christ. These doctrines are to be a foundation for us as believers and we must build upon them growing in maturity.

As Christians we are called to grow in maturity. In Hebrews 5:11-14 the author calls out the early Hebrew Church for being sluggish Christians that are lazy and immature and can only drink milk like a child.
