Abraham is still without an heir, but the Lord reassures him that he shall not be lacking in children. In fact, the Lord shows him the stars and promises that his offspring shall be as numerous as the stars. Abraham believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness.

War comes to the land and Abram's nephew, Lot, is swept up in it and taken away. It's left to Uncle Abram to save the day and he proves victorious. Soon after, Abram meets Melchizedek, King of Salem and priest of God Most High.

After a disastrous episode in Egypt, Abram returns to worshipping the Lord and calling upon his name. However, the next test is not far off – his prosperity is causing problems. The land can't support the combined weight of Abram and Lot's wealth and so they must separate, but how will Abram approach this tricky decision?

Abraham made a great start. He believed God and left everything to go to the promised land. Sadly, when his belly began to rumble and there was no food to eat due to the famine, his faith seemed to get forgotten and it nearly all ended in disaster.

Revered as the father of faith, Abraham is one of the most important characters in the Bible. This week, we take a look at how God called him to leave his old life and to set out on a new life of faith.

If we are regularly drinking water from the wells of Salvation we should find these two responses emerging: praise and proclamation. We praise God and we proclaim the glorious things he has done.

After the prophetic warning of judgement, Isaiah looks ahead to a time when deliverance will have occurred, and God's people can joyfully draw water from the wells of Salvation.

The rumours are running wild and some even claim to have seen the risen Saviour, but is it really true? Before Jesus ascended back into heaven, he appeared to the Apostles to give them all the proof they would need. Luke 24v36-53

It had been a truly traumatic weekend. Their hope had been crushed and it looked like it was all over. Good Friday Communion Service

The religious leaders have Jesus under arrest. Now all they have to do is convince Pilate to sentence him to death. The difficulty they face is that Pilate is convinced Jesus has not done anything wrong. Luke chapter 22v54-23v25.

Jesus is on the brink of the cross, but first he must take the time to pray. As his arrest draws ever closer, Jesus is on his face, struggling in prayer. Luke chapter 22:38-53.

Whilst the disciples and Jesus enjoy the Passover, Jesus drops a series of shocking predictions. Luke chapter 22:21-38.

On the eve of his death, Jesus hosts his final Passover, which he has been looking forward to, he also institutes the first Lord's Supper. Luke chapter 22:1-20.

Jesus teaches about the signs of the destruction of Jerusalem and the signs that reveal when the end will come. Jesus will return, so we are to be ready. Luke chapter 21:20-38.

Jesus gives his disciples advance warning of the kinds of opposition they will face, but also the comfort that they will live. Luke chapter 21:5-19.

As the intense time of the questioning of Jesus draws to a close, Jesus has his own question to ask. The answer points us to consider why Jesus deserves our greatest devotion. Luke chapter 20v40-21v40.

Are we tempted to think belief in the resurrection seems a bit far-fetched? Jesus answers those who try to suggest that belief in life after death is silly. Luke chapter 20v27-40.

Flattery, traps and spies. It sounds like the plot from a modern-day thriller, but is in fact the elements of a plot aimed to ensnare Jesus and bring about his downfall. Luke chapter 20v19-26.

When the elite religious leaders question Jesus, his response gives them more than they bargained for. We look at the paprable of the wicked tenants. Luke chapter 20v1-18.
