Does how we feel matter at all? What do we do with our emotions when they feel like they are controlling every part of lives? This week's discussion centers around how we can use the emotions we have to spur us on in spiritual growth as we take those thoughts and submit them to the word of God.

In this week's discussion, we broke down our takeaways from Jon Schwander's message on withstanding the pressure of the valley. Our discussion highlights some impactful insights we pulled out of what he brought on Sunday morning as well as what God has been teaching us throughout this series.

Giving the fire to us is God's responsibility; tending the fire is ours. This week we talked about what the Bible means when it tells us to "fan into flame" the gift of the Spirit that God placed in us. We revisit the question we asked when we started this series : What will we do with what God has placed inside us?

If God gave us His fire of the Holy Spirit in us, what could our lives look like? In this episode we discussed a life led by the Spirit and what happens as we seek to follow His leading in our lives.

This week we had a discussion around living our lives open handed - trusting God instead of trying to control the things, people and situations He has placed in our hands. That's hard and we outlined some ways we can practically begin to live it out in our daily lives. 

What does it mean to live my life with lifted hands? How does prayer and worship play into the spiritual formation that God has for me?
