Corn crakes (Crex crex) are typical midnight summer “singers” in hayfields. Males are often close to each other and actively announce themselves in their own territories. These funny sounding birds are rarely seen but often heard. This soundscape was taken in mid-June on a quiet summer night.

Ural Owl and Raven Ural owl (Strix uralensis) is big boreal owl and famous how it defends argressive against intruders near nest. Raven (Corvus corax) has noticed owl chicks in nest hole and try to figure out how to catch one. Sound of leking Black Grouse (Tetrao tetrixis) is commonly heard in spring boreal taiga forests. In these tournamets male Black Grouses try to conquer the best center spots. Tournament is full of sound, action and loose feathers. Males are most active in the dawns in late april.

Great joy of april with birds. Morning is full of sound and action. Among others you can heard common starling (Sturnus vulgaris), black-headed gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus), fieldfare (Turdus pilaris), Eurasian curlew (Numenius arquata), greenfinch (Chloris chloris), common gull (Larus canus canus) and great tit (Parus major).
