Kevin Aspaas is a Diné artist from Shiprock,NM in northwest NM. He is a make weaver who is carrying on the tradition of the Navajo loom and textiles. He specializes in the Diné “wedge-weave” design. Kevin also creates Navajo women’s cultural dress called a “biil.”

This podcast is unique, as Jasper shares some of this experience via the Navajo language.

Dr. Lloyd Lee Ph. D. is an educator and a professor at the University of New Mexico. He has written several academic books on the subject of the Navajo people, their identity, and Navajo nationalism. He is also an organizer of the annual Diné Studies Conference. He believes in telling the true narrative of the modern Navajo people and their rich history.

Venyaya Yazzie is a Navajo/Hopi Multidisciplinary artist from the eastern region of the Navajo reservation. She works in Tootie acrylic paints and is also a poet and seamstress. She is a board member of the Northwest New Mexico arts Council and strives to educate the community about the cultural people and philosophies of the tribes in the four corners.
