(Ex 15:2) The Lord is my strength and Savior. Example of a faithful father who never stopped loving his wayward son (Lk 15:11ff).

(Prov 16:32) Like God, be slow to anger, abounding in mercy. God’s power helps us persevere in our Christian lives (1 Cor 4:20; Ps 115:3). Leaders must offer firm correction and gentle guidance (1 Cor 4:21; Ps 23).

Positive impact of God’s Word on health vs. negativeimpact of ignoring it (1 Jn 3:16-20). Eternal assurance is evident when we see Christ’s sacrificial love flow out from us (v. 19-20).

(Jn 4:24) Worshipping God in spirit and doctrine. Communion: A divine pause. God is looking for power, not polish (1 Cor 4:19-20). Make an impact (2:1-4).

Genuine love expresses itself in generosity (1 Jn 3:17) and is anchored in truth (1 Jn 3:18).

(Jn 3:16, 15:13) Honoring the fallen. Pay attention to those who walk with Christ (1 Cor 4:17; Phil 3:17). Beware of Christian pride (1 Cor 4:18; Ps 141:5).

Review (1 Jn 3:6-16): Fellowship or sin? Walking in light vs. darkness. Habitual hate towards brethren disrupts our fellowship with God (v. 15). Rather, love sacrificially (v. 16; Ps 133:1).

(Prov 1:8-9) Honor from hearing your father and mother. You can get a lot of instruction from many people, but the truth comes from the Word of God, supported by your local church (1 Cor 4:15-16).

Abiding in Christ, even when the world hates you (1 Jn 3:13-14; Ps 37:12-13). Meet hostility with grace and prioritize love and fellowship.

(Ps 46:1-5) God is our help and refuge. The story no oneteaches on Mother’s Day, but should. God meets women in their worst moments (ex. the adulterous woman: Jn 8:1-12).

Continuously in fellowship vs. continuously in sin (1 Jn3:5-6). The inner conflict of the believer (Rom 7:15-25). Believers battle flesh and spirit until glorification (1 Jn 3:10; Ps 1:1-3). Love contrasted with hatred of Cain (1 Jn 3:11-12; Ps 37:8-9).

(Prov 15:1) Christ-like speech reflects a Spirit-led life. Communion. Facing opposition in today’s world (1 Cor 4:13-14; Ps 69:7-9). Respond to mistreatment with grace.

Old nature vs. new nature (1 Jn 3:9). The “seed,” the new nature from God, never sins. Your life should reflect the righteousness and love of God (1 Jn 3:10).

(Ps 34:17-19) The righteous cry out and the Lord hears. Beaten for the faith (1 Cor 4:11; 1 Pet 2:23). The ministry requires diligent devotion (1 Cor 4:12; Ps 69:1-4).

A believer who walks obediently practices righteousness (1 Jn 3:7; Ps 1:1-3). Rest in the truth that Christ came to liberate you from sin’s cycle (1 Jn 3:8).

(Prov 12:28) Jesus is the way of righteousness. LIFE acrostic. Doctrine of session (Heb 3:1; 2 Tim 1:7). Death died the day Christ rose from the grave. His resurrection gives us purpose (2 Cor 12:9).

Releasing guilt and rejoicing in Christ’s substitutionary atonement (1 Jn 3:5; Ps 32:1-2). Abiding in God prevents ongoing sin (1 Jn 3:6; Ps 51:10-22).

(Ps 103:19) Rest in God’s perfect authority. Being exposed to shame for Christ’s sake (1 Cor 4:9; Jn 12:32). There’s blessing in being a fool for Christ (1 Cor 4:10; Ps 69:7-9).

Pursue purity before God (1 Jn 3:3). Sin and lawlessness (1 Jn 3:4). The gospel of Christ can deliver you from a debased life (Rom 1:16ff; Ps 119:9-11).

(Ps 103:1-5) Bless the Lord regardless of life’s circumstances. Communion: The ultimate sacrifice. God is the source of all gifts. Pride distorts gratitude (1 Cor 4:7-8; Ps 75:4-7).

Glimpse of what it will be like when we’re face to face with the Lord (1 Jn 3:1-2; Ps 17:15). Nevertheless, you are God’s child now.

(Ps 37:5-6) God honors the committed heart. We are all ministers of the Gospel (1 Cor 12:7). God will praise us (1 Cor 4:5). Do not go beyond God’s Word (1 Cor 4:6).
