Essence of God.

Focus on Triune God (Jn 16:8-10) continued with study of God the Father. The Father, the standard of righteousness and judgment, is rich in mercy (Ex 20:1-17; Eph 2:4-5). The Gift of Christ (Rom 5:8).

(Ps 145:1-21) Psalm of praise. Things that relate to Christmas: How the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are involved in Christmas.

Spiritual endurance. Examples: Job, Paul, Abraham, Jesus, and Moses. Your endurance fosters spiritual growth. Reacting vs. responding in faith.

Doctrine of spiritual flexibility. Spiritual flexibility begins with personal contentment (Phil 4:11-13). Examples of spirituality flexible men: Joseph, Job, and Daniel.

(Phil 3:12-16) Pressing toward the goal. Communion: In response to God's grace, what are we to do (Isa 53:4)? How to become spiritually mature, to race to a prize, using the apostle Paul as an example (Phil 3:12-16). Stages of maturity. 

The Cross to the Crown. Difference between spiritual infancy, adolescence, maturity, heroism, and the friend of God (Heb 5:13-14). Why the believer should be interested in advancing spiritually (Rom 10:17).

Puppet show and new memory verse program. (Ps 112:1-10) God will take care of believers. Resurrection (1 Cor 15:42) vs. resuscitation (Jn 11). The thief as an Old Testament saint based on an understanding of Paradise (Lk 23:43; 16:22).

(Psa 100:1-5). Thanksgiving in the ligh of Jn 11.

The Christian way of life continued. Basic rules for the Christian life. The new commandment (Jn 13:34-35). By faith and study, you can change your habit of thinking (Phil 4:8) and be salt and light to the world (Mt 5:13-14).

(Ps 121:1-8) Trust in God’s protection. Lazarus study continued (Jn 11). The purpose of Lazarus (v. 15). Jesus’ miracles and signs (Jn 20:30-31). These signs are designed so we can trust the Bible.

Christian vs. spiritual walk. The Christian walk involves following Christ (Jn 5:30; Mt 4:4), whereas the spiritual walk is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

(Ps 145:1-20) Jn 11:41-48

The Christian walk. New Testament words for "walking" (Eph 4:1-2, 2:1-3; 1 Jn 2:6). Walking in light vs. walking in darkness (Eph 5:8). God intends for us to be filled with the Spirit and learn His word. You are either walking in light, or you are not.

(Ps 91:1-4) God protects us. Thoughts on Middle East crisis, the principle of retaliation (1 Sam 30:1-31). Lazarus study continued (Jn 11). The three heavens. Praying according to God’s will (v. 41-42; 1 Jn 5:14; 1 Thes 5:18).

The Blood of Christ (Part Two). Metonymy vs synecdoche. The blood reminds us that Jesus died a violent death (metonymy). It also represents His entire body and the sacrifice He made (synecdoche). How to access the power of His blood after salvation (1 Jn 1:7). 

(Ps 148:1-14) Praise the Lord! Standing on Christ, the Solid Rock (Mt 7:24-27). Lazarus study continued (Jn 11). God allows hardships to happen so you can trust Him and be an example to others (v. 4, 15, 45). Jesus’ equality with Father (v. 41-42).

The Blood of Christ (Part One). Christ's blood provides our salvation (Jn 1:12; 12:32) and can be utilized in our Christian walk (1 Jn 1:7).

(Ps 145:18-19, 34:7) God takes care of those who love Him. Lazarus study continued (Jn 11). How we “believe” (Jn 20:31). Mary’s response to Lazarus’ death (Jn 11:28-32). How to have relaxed mental attitude. Jesus wept (v. 35).

Ambassadorship continued (1 Cor 5:16-21). As ambassadors to Christ, we are entrusted to tell others the Good News, the doctrine of reconciliation. What it means to be a living epistle (2 Cor 3:1-3). Biblical spirituality (Rom 8:5-11).
