My Adventures With Digimon

Veemon finally Digivolves into ExVeemon, and we couldn’t be more excited about it! This week on My Adventures With Digimon, we’re revisiting Digimon Adventure 02 Episode 22, “Davis Cries Wolfmon,” and all the ridiculous chaos that comes with Davis trying to force Veemon to Digivolve just to impress Kari. From his hilariously terrible schemes to some classic Digimon slapstick, this episode had us l...

This one left us way more confused than we expected. We’re breaking down Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!/Transcendent Evolution! The Golden Digimentals, the original Japanese story that became 1/3 of Digimon: The Movie we grew up with on Fox Kids. We really enjoyed that heavily edited Saban version, so finally seeing the original should’ve been an easy win. But somehow, it feels darker, slower, and e...

We’re closing out the Digimon Emperor arc with one of the most emotional victories of our Digimon Adventure 02 rewatch so far. Magnamon finally arrives for an awesome showdown with Kimeramon, but the real heart of this episode belongs to Wormmon. His heartbreaking sacrifice turns what should be a huge victory into something much more somber. Support the show: https://patreon.com/hopefullyawesome B...

We’re talking Episode 20, “The Darkness Before Dawn,” and WOW are we ready for the Digimon Emperor arc finale! Kimeramon is completely out of control, Ken is finally starting to realize just how far he’s gone, and Wormmon makes the huge decision to help Davis bring the Emperor’s flying fortress down from the inside. But the moment that had us the most excited was Davis discovering the mysterious g...

This week on My Adventures With Digimon, T.K. has officially had ENOUGH, and we loved every second of it. Our Digimon Adventure Season 2 rewatch podcast continues with Episode 19, “An Old Enemy Returns,” as T.K. comes face-to-face with the Digimon Emperor and straight-up throws hands with Ken in one of the most satisfying moments of the season so far. We’re talking about what pushes T.K. over the...

Apparently Yolei woke up and chose absolute chaos. As the DigiDestined begin searching for the Digimon Emperor’s mysterious moving base, the episode starts laying the groundwork for a bigger, more connected story that has us really excited about where Season 2 is headed. But the real question is… what the heck got into Yolei?! She goes from determined to completely unhinged so fast that we half ex...

This week’s episode takes us back to one of the most emotional pieces of season one as we revisit “Ghost of a Chance” and the return of Wizardmon. With the original DigiDestined and the new team coming together on August 1st, this episode is packed with nostalgia as everyone looks back on their first adventure, revisits familiar places from the Myotismon battle, and remembers just how much has hap...

We’re revisiting Digimon Adventure 02 Episode 16, “20,000 Digi-Leagues Under the Sea,” and Cody’s big lesson about lying is testing our patience almost as much as his fear of the ocean. We get what the episode is going for, but when the rest of the DigiDestined are literally in danger, Cody agonizing over whether it’s okay to lie for help feels a little too much like toddler-level morality, even f...

We’re revisiting Digimon Adventure 02 Episode 15, “Big Trouble in Little Edo,” for a rewatch podcast that’s perfectly fine, even if it never becomes much more than that. The DigiDestined stumble into an old-school Japanese town where Shurimon and Ninjamon settle their rivalry with a battle of honor, while ShogunGekomon causes trouble under the control of a Dark Spiral. We talk about the surprising...

We’re talking Digimon Adventure 02 episode 14, “The Samurai of Sincerity,” and honestly, this one was just a blast. Mimi is back, we meet Michael and Betamon as new DigiDestined from America, and the episode is packed with fun callbacks to the original Adventure crew’s first experiences in the Digital World. But the big moment is Yolei finally unlocking the Digi-Egg of Sincerity, giving Hawkmon hi...

This one genuinely felt like a horror movie. Between Kari’s unsettling visions, the fog-covered world, the eerie Dark Ocean, and the looming presence of Dragomon, this episode gives us some of the creepiest and most fascinating world-building in the entire series. We absolutely loved the Cthulhu-esque atmosphere and the sense that something ancient and terrifying is lurking just beyond what the Di...

We’re saddling up for Digimon Adventure 02 Episode 12, “The Good, The Bad, and The Digi”… and wow, this might be the roughest ride of the entire series so far. What should be a fun Wild West parody somehow ends up feeling like one of the most pointless, unfunny, and surprisingly boring episodes we’ve seen on this rewatch. From Starmon’s cowboy town to Deputymon, the walking revolver sheriff who ab...

In this episode of My Adventures With Digimon, we’re talking Digimon Adventure 02 episode 11, “Storm of Friendship,” and yeah, Raidramon is finally here! This rewatch podcast and series retrospective has us geeking out over Davis earning his second Digi-Egg, the Crest of Friendship showing up in a big way, and Veemon’s electric new armor digivolution stealing the spotlight. We had a lot of fun wit...

In this episode of My Adventures With Digimon, we’re breaking down Digimon Adventure 02 Episode 10, “The Captive Digimon,” as Tai desperately tries to save Agumon from the Digimon Emperor. We had a blast with this one, even if Ken absolutely sucks here with the way he treats Agumon and pushes the Dark Spiral experiments way too far. We’re talking Dark MetalGreymon’s terrifying debut, Wormmon conti...

In this episode of My Adventures With Digimon, we’re breaking down “The Emperor’s New Home,” where Ken fully embraces becoming the Digimon Emperor and the stakes suddenly feel way bigger. The DigiDestined realize something is seriously wrong after Ken disappears into the Digital World, but the real shock comes when he captures Agumon and tries to turn Tai’s partner into his newest weapon. We also...

In this episode of My Adventures With Digimon, we’re breaking down Digimon Adventure 02 Episode 8, “Ken’s Secret,” and this one was just a blast, getting to see Ken interact with the DigiDestined in the real world during the soccer match adds such a fun (and slightly off) layer, especially as Davis tries to prove himself, but everything shifts once we hit the Digital World and that intense Deltamo...

Our Digimon podcast dives into 2x7: “Guardian Angel,” where everything goes sideways as Kari gets trapped alone in the Digital World and the stakes suddenly feel way more real. While the Digi-Destined are busy taking down Control Spires, a brutal Guardromon defense forces a retreat… except Kari and Gatomon don’t make it out, leaving them surrounded and searching for a way home. We get into the ten...

Mimi’s back, and that alone makes Digimon Adventure 02 episode 6, “Family Picnic,” feel special. In our Digimon rewatch podcast and series retrospective, we’re talking about how her return shakes up the new Digi-Destined, especially her sweet dynamic with Yolei, while a simple picnic turns into chaos with a runaway sushi roll, a hidden Control Spire, and some very familiar (and brainwashed) faces....

In this episode of our Digimon Adventure 02 rewatch podcast, we’re talking about “Old Reliable,” a Digimon Season 2 Episode 5 recap that brings Joe back into the Digital World and reminds everybody why he’s still one of the real ones. There’s something so satisfying about seeing Joe step back into the action while Gomamon reaches out for help, and this episode really lets that bond shine in the mi...

Matt’s return in Digimon Adventure 02 Episode 4 “Iron Vegiemon” gives this rewatch a whole new energy, and we’re breaking down how his reunion with Gabumon and the team shifts everything, from the chaotic rescue mission and the Digimon Emperor’s obvious trap to Davis struggling to be taken seriously and clashing with the group. We get into the emotional weight of Gabumon searching for Matt, the no...

This week on our Digimon Adventure 02 rewatch podcast, we’re talking about 2x3: “A New Digitude” and the moment this season really starts to open up. Davis, Yolei, Cody, Kari, and T.K. head back into the Digital World, run straight into the Digimon Emperor’s cruelty, and finally start to understand just how different this new fight is going to be. We get into Ken’s eerie first real spotlight, the...

Cody and Yolei finally get pulled into the Digital World for the first time, meet their Digimon face to face, and that sense of wonder really carries the whole episode. We get the old team showing up, the new group starting to find its footing, and a bigger look at how Armor Digivolution changes the game. We’re digging into the first-time Digital World energy, the contrast between the veterans and...

We’re kicking off Digimon Adventure 02 with “Enter Flamedramon,” and this premiere really does feel like a new era starting in real time. Three years after that first summer in the Digital World, the original DigiDestined have grown up, a new group is stepping in, and Season 2 wastes no time throwing us into the chaos of the Digimon Emperor, Dark Rings, brand-new Digivices, and Davis meeting Veemo...

Digimon has a “lost episode,” and we had to talk about it. This week on our Digimon rewatch podcast + series retrospective, we’re breaking down Digimon Adventure Original Story: 2½ Year Break, the Japanese audio drama set in the time gap between Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02. Part time capsule, part connective tissue, and part “wait… this has been here the whole time?!” We dig into wh...
