Movie Rambling & Reviews

It was a treat seeing Trick 'r Treat in the theater. What an awesome movie and twas a shame it was shelved and didn't receive a proper theatrical release. I was fortunate enough to see it in a theater previously. Here I am rambling right after the movie viewing.

Had a family party over the weekend, so it ate up some time. Still managed to watch a few movies. Recorded this episode, right after viewing Friday the 13th Part 2. It was the jolt I needed to get back to recording and on track with SHOCKTOBER. Thank you for listening. Enjoy my ramblings. Ha ha

Started to dip into some early cinematic decades. First movie was a review of a 1942 romantic comedy, not really horror except it did have a Witch as a primary character. I gave it a pass, the 1940s was a tough decade for horror, I wanted a new watch. Second movie was Stephen King's "Thinner" I give a fun story about the theatrical experience of this one. The weekend got hectic at the end. Recording opportunity was slim. Monday wasn't much better, but I was able to squeeze 2 movies in. Sorry for the delay in posting.

Still rocking through SHOCKTOBER. Had some technical issues(forgot to save my original recording) So I rambled on about Time Cut and time traveling horror movies.

I was able to get 2 movies in. The first was a mockumentary titled "Found Footage: The making of the Paterson Project. The second movie a decent slasher, "Night of the Reaper" I hope you enjoy my brief ramblings of these 2 movies. Thank you for listening.

I'm being very ambitious this year and I'm going to try and record my viewing of the day for the entire month of SHOCKTOBER. I've been busy , however no excuse. Stephen King's The Monkey has been brought to life this year in Oz Perkins, The Monkey. The short story was first published in 1980 as a booklet and then added to a compilation of King's stories in Skeleton Crew(1985). A movie that was clearly influenced by his story was The Devil's Gift (1984). It was even a Dollar Baby and a short film released in 2023. I discuss all this and more in the episode...

I do a small breakdown of the Scary Movie franchise. Mostly it's just rambling about the Five movies. Mentioning the movies that gave the foundation for each one. At the end I do give a ranking of my favorite to the least favorite. I do enjoy the Scary Movie franchise, but they're not for everyone. They're very un-poltically correct. A general look at trilogies, I lost off a few. The focus was to discuss movies that have 2 and need that third to make it a trilogy. In good Rambling and Review fashion, I just go off on a tangent rambling about various trilogies and a few that deserve one last movie to complete the vision.

Another movie to be added to my "Lightning in the Bottle" collection. Back in 1991, this was the must see movie on my list. Even now it's an exciting viewing, every time. The movie came out at the exact moment with the perfect cast. Like capturing lightning in a bottle.

Growing up in the 1980s, my brother had a small collection of horror movies on VHS. It was like a treasure trove of forbidden fruit. I ramble and reminisce about those golden years of enjoying hidden joy.

In this episode I went with a classic, all-time favorite movie... The Goonies. I realize it's not a movie for everyone, however, it is everything for me.
