This episode deals with the idol OF the institutional church. What are you worshiping? What are you allowing to be your god?

Today we talk about the sermon, preaching, pastors, bishops, and spreading the Gospel. We talk about Ephesians 4:11 and the different roles different people play in our local assemblies. But we also speak on our experiences as a pastor and his family.

This week we talk about the portion of the traditional church service set aside for singing. Shouldn’t we be praising God? Do the lyrics of our favorite church songs do that?

This week’s episode features a super special guest.  We take a break from our normal series to talk to our son about a few of his experiences as a pastor’s kid who didn’t always walk the straight and narrow.

Ryan and Amanda begin to dissect each aspect of most institutional church services and begin by discussing prayer requests. Some “rabbits” were chased, but we stay close to the topic of public prayer, praying over the sick, and intercession.

What is idolatry? Have we made “church” an idol by equating it with God and righteousness?
