Morning Psalm and Prayer

How foolish to deny the existence of God! Only a minority are so foolish. The more alarming reality is that none are wise before God, none righteous ... every heart is corrupted by sin. That's the bad news. The good news is that God in His love sent Jesus to die and rise again - paying the penalty for sin and opening a path to God by faith. Praise God for His grace!

Have you been wounded by hurtful words? There are those in influence who use their words to sow evil and destruction. But God hears from heaven and takes note. Today, I choose to trust in the goodness and love of God - and to use my voice to build up others and praise God!

I was born in sin and guilty before God. But God in love chose to take the penalty for my sin! By grace I have come to know the full forgiveness only available to followers of Jesus. Let me walk closely with you and create a clean heart in me, God.

What does God desire? A burnt offering? An animal sacrifice? No, God is looking for a more excellent sacrifice -- that of a grateful heart! He looks for those who live faithfully - and to those He will open the door of salvation.

How much wealth or accomplishment is your soul worth? How much is enough to ransom your own soul? This psalm answers that question -- no person can ransom their own soul. Only God can redeem. Praise Him for His grace and receive it by faith.

The Lord has made Jerusalem to be His eternal capital. This psalm extols the glory of the City of the Great King. Let us contemplate the great love of God. Rejoice in the Lord today!

The Lord puts a song of praise in your heart! Lift your voice - sing praises to your God - the King of Kings! Our God reigns!

The Lord is your refuge and strength -- He is your ever present help in times of trouble! Jesus is the Prince Peace! He brings peace to your heart and someday will bring peace to this earth. Be blessed by His peace today!

This psalm is a beautiful poetic and prophetic picture of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings -- and of his daughters and sons by faith -- together your church is the bride of Jesus the groom. This is a noble theme to meditate on today.

The Lord gives you blessing and is the author of your greatest victories! But there are times that you suffer defeat -- and in those times it's easy to assume that God has somehow left us. In our emotion we call out to God to "wake up" and act on our behalf. In fact, God is never late. His love and faithfulness can always be trusted.

The Lord is so generous that He is sending you His light and truth every day! It is your choice whether or not to seek out His light and truth - and to be led by them. Praise God today in song and with joy! Trust Him with all of your heart!

Moods change but God's love doesn't. People question and doubt but God remains faithful and true. Whatever the mood or circumstances, put your hope in God!

Have you ever had someone come to visit in your home and then went out and gossiped about all they saw and heard? You aren't alone! King David had the same experience. Have you ever noticed that there are poor people in need? God makes many promises to all those who are considerate of the poor. Be generous with your blessings.

The Lord's wonderful works toward me are beyond measure. I will speak up and tell others of those of your faithfulness and love! Thank you for placing a new song in my heart - a hymn of praise to you!

Another day, another online order. It's a lifestyle in the USA, continually accumulating stuff. So much vanity. Meanwhile the days pass, one after another. Lord, teach me to value the days because life is short. Let me lay up treasure in heaven!

Sin takes a toll. Not just spiritually but relationally and even physically. Guilt can overcome my thoughts and my spirit. This psalm is a painful description of being overwhelmed by the guilt of sin. But it doesn't end there. David confessed his sin. You too can and must confess - and receive a full pardon from your loving Father in Heaven.

Lord you are always looking out for your children. Those who trust in you are blessed. The inheritance of the righteous is established by God. The Lord establishes your steps today. Commit you way to Him and Trust in Him !

God's faithful love is so immense it is almost beyond description! You are loved! God protects, provides and turns on the light of life for all who follow Him. Enjoy and share this Psalm.

King David had many adversaries even though he was chosen of God to be King of Israel. The belier also has adversaries - natural and supernatural. There are time that we cry out "rescue me Lord!" Our God is faithful, true and fair!

Psalm 34 is a wonderfully encouraging word of hope for you today. Be blessed by it. And be sure to mark it in your bible as one you can turn to often for blessing and assurance.

Nothing is too hard for God! He spoke and the universe was formed. By His word, the stars, the seas, the earth and all that is in it came into being. We stand in awe of God our creator!

How joyful to know that your sin is fully forgiven! Forgiveness is yours because Jesus paid the penalty for sin at the cross - and you receive His forgiveness by faith in Jesus. As a child of God, your Father in Heaven keeps His eyes on you and counsels you in the way that you should go.

The Lord knows your better than you know myself. He is not put off by your times of grief and despair. Jesus knew what it was to be alone and abandoned. Make the Lord's presence your refuge. Love the Lord and be strong in the Lord.

It's true that there are times of lament and sadness in life. When you pray to God, even when you don't really feel the best, His love and faithfulness will meet you -- and lift you up! God can remove your sadness and replace it with joy! Weeping lasts for the night but joy comes in the morning!

Have you thought about the strength of God's voice? In this psalm, you hear David's meditation on the voice of the Lord. Be encouraged this morning to turn your heart to God's Word and to open your heart to His voice. Be blessed!
