Morning Manna

In today's episode I share some thoughts from a message I heard yesterday from Pastor Jonathon Pokluda about The Cure for Greed. Have a blessed Monday!

One of the verses I memorized in Bible college was Proverbs 3:5–6 - “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Let's talk about trust on today's Morning Manna.

Psalm 125:1: “Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.” This is who we are who trust in the Lord. We...Are...Immovable. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

Let's talk about manna on today's episode. Exodus 16:31says this about it... “And the house of Israel called its name Manna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.” For four decades God provided this amazing food six days a week. What manna will you and I take in today?

I love what we read in Jude 1:24 - “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,” Meditate on this verse today and experience exceeding joy. Let's talk about this on today's Morning Manna.

Have you ever heard the saying... "First things first"? 1 Timothy 2:1–2 says; “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

How content are you right now? Think about it... I just ate a bowel of oatmeal and dressed up in jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Should I already be content? 1 Timothy 6:7–8 says this... “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.” YES... I am content!

2 Samuel 1:27 says, “How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war perished!” We are surrounded by voices telling us that every frustration should be vented, every grievance aired, and every thought expressed. But God does not agree. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God." Enjoy and receive a reading today from Psalm 42. May we all continue to thirst for Him.

Let's talk about the heart today and focus on this powerful proverb... “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” - Proverbs 4:23.

Proverbs 16:25 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” We need God's wisdom from His Word and His Spirit to give us direction in making choices. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

Life isn't always peachy. There's the good and the bad... the blessings and the challenges. Paul said this in Philippians 4:11–12: “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Let's tal...

I love Deuteronomy 33:27 - "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Let that sink in today. May I suggest you even memorize this verse today and may you live in it's truth. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

What a treasure is God's Word to us! Proverbs 7:1 says, “My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you.” Let's talk about this incredible treasure on today's Morning Manna.

1 Samuel 22:2 - “And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.” While this verse speaks of King David, let us today bring our challenges to King Jesus.

Galatians 5:22–23 says this... “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Let's talk about this fruit in today's Morning Manna.

Today is Memorial Day in the US. It's a day that we honor those who gave their lives for our country. Today I honor two of my classmates in my graduating class at Miami Norland Senior High who gave it all. Today's verse of the day says this... Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. That's our mission today.

We are living in challenging times. Enjoy a reading of Psalm 37 today and lean into it and it's truth. Be blessed today! God is on the throne!

1 Samuel 16:7 says this... “But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’” It's not just your size and skills... it's your heart. I start out everyday opening up the YouVersion Bible app and looking at the verse of the day. It gives me direction and guidance. It corrects and admonishes me as well. In today's episode I want to read not only the verse of the day, but other verses in Colossians chapter 3. Let's be on mission today!
