More Gooder Than Podcast

Originally Aired in 2017 Changio Formatto!  In this episode, we take a temporary break from our usual formula and look at the entire Harry Potter series!  And yes, Cory did read all the scripts and is now conversationally fluent in Merfolk. Interestingly, they don't have an equivalent for the popular tourist phrase, "where is the bathroom?"  Probably because they live in it.  Disgusting!  Maybe Vo...

Sorry Home Trees: no more new content for a while. Hope you enjoyed last month’s 4 episode frenzy! You’ll just have to wait til the next time an icon passes, we guess. In the meantime, we have plenty of REWINDS in the vault. Cherish them while they last !

Well… how about that?  This week we look at a man absolutely dripping with charisma, among other things.  The myth, the legend, the Lord of Darkness, the incomparable Tim Curry takes center stage as we look at The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, and Congo.  Join us as we question our own orientations after being exposed to the hypersexual wiles of Herkermer Homolka!  In these trying times, Home T...

Another new pair of episodes?  Are the guys getting back together???  Alas, no, my good Home Trees.  But as long as the Grim Reaper keeps taking the wrong people (get it together, bruh, FFS), we’ll keep having a reason to re-une.  In this week’s Goodie Bag we reveal the… spicy… selections for next week’s main ep, and probably talk about some other stuff as well.  So join us as we escape to the ONE...

We lost two… er, one of the greats recently.  Straight talk: you know us.  At More Gooder Than, we like to keep abreast of current events.  This week, we rack up a trio of truly titillating attractions starring the incomparable Dolly Parton.  9 to 5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Rhinestone all get an ogle.  Dolly, you were the best of us.  From the bottoms of our, uh, hearts… thanks fo...

NEW EPISODE ALERT! Time to take a break from the REWINDS Death comes for us all, Home Trees… the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns.  So you know what that means:  wacky hijinks!  We’re back with another reunion episode, which you’ll learn all about in this week’s Goodie Bag.  In these trying times, take whatever small slices of joy you can find.  Start by shoving us directl...

Remember, the REWINDS are from years ago! Just trying to get all of the episodes we made on one feed. For example, this episode is the first main episode of 2017, and was the first of many episodes to feature the late great Alan Rickman. It also features the 1st use of the now famous MGT theme song

FYI: These Rewinds are from YEARS ago. This one in particular is from January of 2017. Just wanted to make sure everything we’ve recorded is available for you Home Trees.

FYI: These REWINDS are all from YEARS ago. This one in particular was released in 2016, around, you guessed it, CHRISTMAS! Batman Returns, Die Hard, and Edward Scissorhands. What do they have in common? They’re kind of Christmas movies, perfect for this new September release.

JUST AN FYI: these Rewinds aired YEARS ago. This one in particular aired In December of 2016. We just wanted to make sure you Home Trees had access to even our old episodes . Merry Happy, Home Trees! It’s our first (of many) forays into the holiday season, if only tangentially. Make sure to watch Batman Returns, Die Hard and Edward Scissorhands to prep for next week’s full episode.

Quick Disclaimer: All of these REWINDS are from years ago. We wanted to make sure ALL of our episodes were available to you Home Trees, not just ep 28 and beyond. Enjoy! We went into this episode hoping for a lighthearted romp through childhood nostalgia. Boy were we wrong! Labyrinth, Return to Oz, and The Dark Crystal might be some of the freakiest movies we’ve ever seen. Memory points: -This ep...

Just a reminder: these Rewinds aired YEARS ago. We just wanted to get them back on air so you can get the full picture of our journey. On this one in particular, there are a TON of date specific references. Still..a game day with the Home Trees would be a blast, right?!

What do you get when you combine the rawest sexuality known to mankind with the spindly form of a newborn giraffe? You get Jefftimus Prime himself. Seriously, is there anyone like him at all? Don’t think too hard, or you’re bound to lose an hour or two in a Goldblum spiral. Don’t worry: it happens to all of us from time to time.

You guys done with that political stuff? Ya, let’s get back to some escapism, and who better to do that than…yours truly! Next week we’ll be celebrating the man, the myth, the legend: Jeff Goldblum! So go watch some of his movies to prep yourself appropriately.

Little did we know this is the last time we ever felt joy talking about presidents. 2016 seems so long ago. Hopefully this brightens your day with some escapism! Always good for what ails ya.

ANYWAYS! Gosh dang we miss listener comments. We used to have so many! The Home Trees used to really make our day. Chris almost dies in this one, and also gains his “Braato” nickname. Donnie munches on his bowl of rice, while his concept of time is still fluid. Cory declared his early love of “Westworld.” Always do topical 10 years later. Go watch White House Down, Olympus Has Fallen, and Air Forc...

Oi!!!! Aussie fever has swept MGT! Only in retrospect is it PAINFULLY obvious how much us hosts were obsessed with the land down under from the get go. In our defense, Australians are pretty darn great.

The adoration of all things Australia by the MGT hosts is well documented. This is our first foray into the land down under, starting a love affair with its people and places that lasts to this day. Call this Goodie Bag our “meet-cute,” if you will. Watch the OG mad max trilogy to prep for next week’s main episode.

Originally Aired November 2016 Weird Science, Aliens, True Lies. These are some of the most enjoyable movies we have ever covered, bar none. RIP to Bill: gone too soon!

Wanna know what to watch for next week’s episode? Watch Aliens, True Lies, and Weird Science…you’re welcome for those gems. Believe it or not, we talk the World Cup in this episode. Timely, right? We talk a LOT of sports in this one. Hope you’re ready.

Originally Aired November 2016 We talk about episodes being influential from our catalogue. No episode had more impact on the show as a whole than this one did. The call backs we make to this one surpass any other episodes by a mile. Most importantly: it’s where the term “Home Trees” found its…home. Enjoy!

Originally Aired October 2016 This was just our second Goodie Bag of all time. It also solved an argument we had on whether we used to record the GB’s or Main episodes first. We also used to be able to keep episodes under half an hour. What happened to us?! If you want to prep for next week, go watch Avatar, The last Samurai and Dances with Wolves.

Originally aired September 2016 5th Element, Total Recall and Starship Troopers. What can you even say about these movies? You…who knows. Us hosts…A LOT. Enjoy one of our best episodes.

Originally aired August 2016 This is the FIRST Goodie Bag of all time! So crazy how fast we found our groove, right?! Do you like Goodie Bags or Main episodes more?

Originally aired August 2016 This is the ep where we REALLY started to dial things in. Donnie’s Quickies became legendary, Chris stopped being so dang wooden on his intros, and we started to actually give names to the episodes themselves. As for importance, this episode marks the first time Donnie expresses his hatred for Aerosmith, kicking off what is now our longest running gag. Enjoy
