Jason texted this so I have to do something with it! This is the week that Don went into hospice. It's had me very reflective (more than usual), feeling very very grateful for my many friends and family. Sometimes I just start ranting into the recorder when I got no creative juice. I really like this effect. Take a harmonizer effect, and rather than toggling it on and off with your foot, engage it only when you push the pedal down. The momentary switch on my HX Effects is perfect for this. With this harmonize that you can add and remove with your foot, it's like have an extra finger to hammer on and pull off, but at a crazy interval. Link to the post.

Catching up on tape pause clips. I dig the bass movement in this one too. I've been working on and off to fill this cassette for the last what, two years? It's a C90 - maybe I have a 1/2 hour on side one so far. Link to the post.

Anytime I find one of these sparse combo recordings, the rhythm section tapepauses in a cool way. Try to follow the bass line and play that rhythm. Pictured: fresh book! Took 4 years (!) to fill the last one, we'll see about this next one. Link to the post.

It's getting to be it's most disgusting - the man has zero moral fiber and he plays the dumb thug beautifully. I hope we survive. Robert Redford was a guy I aspired...

Talked to my man Sven today and thought about my friends - how stoked I am to have people I can just jump back in stream with. 4 track purging: This was called 4 Guitars - it was improvised in a few minutes on my 4 track in 1996 some time. Found it's way into my audition for the UW Composition Dept and one of my brother's movies. We went to go see Sheng Wang at the Pantages in Tacoma tonight - here is a picture of the ceiling.
