Novice Teacher Track  What is the difference between a procedure and a rule? How do procedures help me have a disciplined classroom? What are procedures that can help me teach in a multi-grade classroom? Come to this workshop that helps us understand how procedures are foundational to learning.

Novice Teacher Track: Do first year teachers have preexisting sources of experience that can be useful in the classroom? Where should teachers go for ideas? inspiration? advice?

Why are successful teachers successful? Whether they have read these principles of the art of teaching or not, they are practicing them. Don’t let the title mislead you; this class goes beyond teaching theory and gets so practical that you can use what you learn here on your first day of school.

Am I prepared to teach school? Where do I start? What is most important? If you feel like an elephant that has been dropped into the ocean, this class will give you some techniques and strategies to help keep your head above water!

What does the Bible say about teachers? How can we follow the Master Teacher?

"Where there's life, there's hope." Do you still show signs of life as a teacher beyond automatically correcting students grammar and guzzling coffee? Are you developing new skills? We will discuss the path to enlightenment.

We’ve already discussed the pitfalls that result in harried teachers. Now the hopeful part: we’ll explore remedies and discuss ways to stay cool, calm, and collected – even in the hairiest situations.

There are so many ways for teachers to become harried. In this session, we’ll discuss some of the things that give teachers heartburn. Be prepared to share your own stressors, then come back for tomorrow's session to explore some remedies.

All students (and teachers) have abilities and weaknesses. Maximizing ability goes hand in hand with minimizing weakness. In this class we want to discuss some practical ways to work with both disability and giftedness in our classrooms.

It can be a challenging time of life for children and the parents. What, if any, is our roll as school leadership/ teachers as they navigate this season of change? We will have time to discuss real life experiences and practical application to set them up for success later in life.

We expect our students to be disciplined in our classrooms and we want them to grow into disciplined, useful adults. What standard of discipline do you hold yourself to? Being disciplined is a godly principle that affects all areas of your life. Come discuss and share how discipline impacts you and your teaching

We will discuss why and how Phonics Foundations was developed and how it is designed to work. Might it fit a student in your classroom? How many students in your school could benefit from using Phonics Foundations?

Some things we do are not worth doing. Sometimes the little things we do today can transform the future world. What are you doing today that will echo through eternity?

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6:40 If our students become like their teachers, what will they become?

Mark Twain once said, “Work and play are words used to describe the same thing under differing conditions.”  Why would you ever work when playing is so much more enjoyable?

What does "Safe" mean? Is it safety from outside threats? Or inside threats? Is it safety for the children? Or for the administration? Who is responsible to assess threats? How do we address threats? Join us as we explore some Biblical and Practical Answers to some of these questions

The Living History curriculum brings history to life through stories, chants, and songs, but it does not follow the traditional textbook and workbook style of social studies that many of us are used to. We will cover the goals and components of the curriculum as well as some possible problem areas and additional ideas. Come with your questions and ideas.

The teacher is a leader, and he must lead confidently if he is to effectively command his classroom. This class will discuss traits of an effective leader.

What is “culture”? What is “music”? What is “good music” and/or “good culture”? And what is involved with intentionally developing a good culture permeated with good music? Bring some ideas with you and leave with more!

What are some red flags that should alert us to hurting students? How can we be redemptive with them?

Novice Teacher Track: Everyone makes mistakes. But we don’t need to repeat all the mistakes of our predecessors. Come to learn about seeing it before you fall in!
