Through the pain barrier. 23.06.2026

Last summer Chris Woakes famously went out to bat against India with a dislocated shoulder. Enfield's Harry Wilkins can now officially say "Woakesy, hold my beer". Elsewhere, Teddington are held by Finchley, Harrow...

Low scoring drama  18.06.2026

Sometimes the best games of cricket aren't ones where the ball is smashed everywhere. Week 6 in the MCCL is a great example of that. Twickenham pull off a miracle and win with only 78 on the board, West Harrow (somehow) nearly defend 39 against Enfield. Harrow Town win despite posting only 106, Ally Pally just about chase 101. Low scores, high drama was very much the order of the day. Learn more a...

Rain-dodging season 10.06.2026

Just five 1st XI games managed to beat the weather on 6 June. One was in Div 7, two in Div 6, one in Div 4 and Twickenham v Stanmore in the Prem. And, Twickenham will be much the happier; by virtue of our old friend Vera Duckworth and her sums, they got home and with that their first ten points of the season. Plus, how bad exactly was that Test Match track and what's it like being an umpire on a r...

Ealing and Teddington march on.... 25.05.2026

The premier division league table is taking shape, but not perhaps in the way many anticipated. Ealing are flying, North Midd and Shay Boo are - on the face of it at least - struggling. Elsewhere, unpredictability never seems to be far away. That's most obviously the case with Tentelow in Div 7; beaten by Gautum Buddha on Saturday, facing Shepherd's Bush in the last 16 of the T20 on Monday. They c...

A premier division full of surprises 20.05.2026

Plus, Wembley's Junayd Azar makes an immediate impact, and Swamibapa - just about - start off with a win. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoi...

Ealing offically rise from the dead 08.09.2025

A month ago, Ealing needed to win four from four to stay up. The odds were against them. Kristian Martin's side cared little for that and completed their Lazarus-like comeback with a win against Harrow St Mary's in Week 18. Elsewhere, Finchley won the big game of the day in Div 1, but it was Div 5 that provided the real drama; heard the one about eight runs being the difference between top and fif...

Judgement day beckons in the MCCL 03.09.2025

North Middlesex have been crowned Premier League champions, but there is still an awful lot of business that needs sorting in the MCCL. Ealing face off against Harrow St Mary's in a relegation shoot out and that's arguably the game of the day. Elsewhere, Bron and Finchley are fighting for the second promotion slot out of Div 1, Eastcote play Harrow to decide which of the two will be Div 2 champion...

Ealing, back from the dead? 26.08.2025

Lazarus has officially come to the MCCL. Ealing, once pronounced dead in the Premier League relegation battle, are now out of the bottom two. Quite the turnaround for the Corfton Roaders. Elsewhere, Shay Boo came out second best in the top-of-the-table clash at North Midd whist Twickenham won a thriller at the top of Div One. Plus, Dan's taking his mother-in-law on a date.... Prem relegation bunfight hotting up 13.08.2025

Who is going to go down from the MCCL's Premier Division? Ealing looked dead and buried until recently, but there's still hope at Corfton Road that they could do a Harry Houdini and stay up. Harrow St Mary's are also showing proper fight, defeating both North Midd and Shay Book in the last two weeks. Only those two title chasers plus Crouch End will genuinely be sleeping easy. Elsewhere, Twickenha...

There's life in the Prem's old dog(s) yet 04.08.2025

Ealing still have a long way to go to maintain their Premier League status, but they are at least making positive strides. Harrow St Mary's are also on the winning path, they cause a shock against North Midd whilst Teddington leapfrog up the table. Elsewhere, the Div 1 promotion race has closed up, whilst Divs 3-5 remain as tight and hard-to-predict as ever. Plus, dig-in-of-the-day is back..... Le...

Who are the 'ones to watch' moving forward? Sal and Dan reveal all. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Twists and turns incoming 16.07.2025

At the bottom, Ealing's quest for a win continues into Week 11. Elsewhere, Div 1 goes much as the coupon would predict, Eastcote surge away in Div 2, Kay Plus and West Harrow look good in Div 3. Plus, Dan channels his inner Bazball while Sal goes big on the ma...

Title race blown wide open 09.07.2025

We're halfway through the 2025 season. Hornsey's Week 9 defeat of Shay Boo means the title race is now very much alive. At the other end of the table, Harrow St Mary's shock a struggling Ealing, whilst Twickenham lose their 100 per cent record at the top of Division One. Elsewhere, Eastcote are streaking ahead in Div 2, promotion race is much tighter in Div 3. For all on the above and indeed much...

Is a big cheese on the way out of the Prem? 02.07.2025

Teddington and Ealing have traditionally been sides that have vied to win the Middlesex County League title. Not this year. Could one of them even get relegated? Sal and Dan think the unthinkable. Plus, North London win the big game at the bottom of Div 1, and Kay Plus (finally) come a cropper (to Chiswick) in Div 3. How much longer will the four other first XIs with 100 per cent records go? Learn...
