Middle Of The Order

This is it, the final weekend of baseball before the postseason. 7 teams are in, 5 spots are still open and we've got 8 technically 9 teams fighting for those spots. Anything can happen and who knows who will get in and who won't. Who will have their moment this weekend. Get excited. 

One more week left and still a lot to play for. Still 6 spots left unclaimed for the postseason and time is running out for a lot of teams. Rangers took a huge step forward with a sweep over the Mariners but they still have 4 more to play later this week. Who will end up in October and which teams only have 1 week of baseball left to play. 

As we inch closer and closer to the postseason, we still have so much undecided, which 7 teams will get the 3 NL Wildcard spots, wait 7? The Padres are trying to come back from the dead and the question is, will the other teams allow that to happen. Meanwhile on the AL side of things all eyes are on the upcoming Mariners, Rangers series. They still have 7 to play. Buckle up 

Wow, what a weekend in baseball. So many great games in extras, so many clutch hits down at the wire. Some walk offs, some grand slams, even a good amount of players hitting their first career major league home runs. Some teams like the Dodgers, Orioles, Rays, Marlins, Blue Jays and D-Backs had great weekends, while others like the Rangers, Mariners, Cubs, Giants and Astros need to fix up quick be...

Toronto takes a huge step back after getting swept at home against the Rangers, but it wasn't all great for the Rangers as in that series, they lost a huge part of that team that not only makes it harder to go far in the postseason, but even reaching it might prove difficult. The Braves are NL East Champs once again and still are the only team 100% in postseason. Who's going to join them...

Your Atlanta Braves are the first team to clinch a spot in the 2023 playoffs and it's only a matter of time before they lock up the division. Angels said that they would be open to trading Mike Trout next year if he wanted to leave which means everyone is now going to talk about that. Wild week of baseball in Texas as the Astros came to play and handled business against their division rival. With just over 20 games left in the season, still a lot to play for and anything can happen. 

August players of the month are here and that's not the only thing we looked at. With 4 teams (Giants, D-Backs, Marlins, Reds) all tied for the 3rd and final wildcard these head to head tiebreakers could be very important down the stretch and you should definitely be aware if your team has any tiebreakers and which teams they have it over. One Month Left. Teams have 27-29 games left on the year and they need to make the most of them. Time is running out for some teams and by the end of the month, only 12 will make the playoffs. While some like the Braves and Dodgers are a given. 18 teams are still contending so 6 will go home without even touching the dance. 

The Rangers, who have been so good all year are in a major slump, dropping 9 of their last 10. The Mariners have taken full advantage of that and are in first place in the AL West this late in a season for the first time since 2003. But with the Rangers and Astros still hot on their trail, it's anyone's division. Baltimore is going to lose their closer, Felix Bautista for some time, but...

Sad to say that Stephen Strasburg has pitched his final game back in 2022, as he plans on calling it a career after trying to recover from thoracic outlet syndrome. And on that note, Ohtani has a UCL injury and won't pitch for the rest of this season. What does that mean for Angel fans and their chances at playoffs? And they aren't the only team I think we can write off. 

Mariners have jumped right back into AL West Division talk and are on a 6 game winning streak in the process. And even though there's just under 40 games left in the season is already too soon to rule out teams like the Yankees, Angels and Padres? 

Wander Franco's MLB Career maybe over before he's even turned 23. The kid was already being talked as a future Hall Of Famer, now he might go down as the biggest what if in baseball. Someone finally told the Dodgers to wake up and the now juggernaut of a team is riding an 11 game win streak. This plus more as we ask some questions about the NL Wildcard teams. 

Fernando Valenzuela, Jose Bautista and Felix Hernandez were honored this weekend. Dodgers retired Valenzuela's #34, Bautista was embodied into the Blue Jays Level Of Excellence, and Hernandez was elected into the Mariners Hall Of Fame. And with all this good and happy news, we also talk about Wander Franco's situation. 

Our longest episode yet to date. Players of the month for July, Michael Lorenzen throw's the 4th no hitter of the year. Kyle Tucker vs Felix Bautista at bat of the year? Starting to understand how this episode is 50 minutes.  

We got a fight between Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson, and talk about a big weekend in general. 7 sweeps are causing some heads to turn as all of a sudden teams like the Angels, Reds and D-Backs are slowly falling out of the wildcard races. We also need to talk about how good Davis Schneider was in his first series ever. 

What a week of baseball. The trade deadline has come and gone and the Mets have traded t future hall of famers with a combined 6 CY Youngs to teams battling it out in the AL West. Framber Valdez throws a no-hitter while German ends up on a restricted list for alcohol abuse in what is our biggest episode yet. 

The trades are coming and the biggest splash definitely was Max Scherzer to the Rangers. Some other important moves have happened and we still have time for a few more. Those division races are really heating up except for the Braves who sit pretty in the NL East. And what is going to happen with those  Angels?

Trades Trades and more Trades, we are inching closer to the end of July and the trade deadline and the Angels are going to try and buy and are no longer shopping Ohtani. Giolito is off to the Angels and you get a live reaction of mine about Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly being shipped to the Dodgers. 

Getting closer to the trade deadline and the dog days but we had some special moments and debuts over the weekend including Sal Frelick. Also although it's early, I think some teams are officially done and should start looking forward to next year.  

The birds have flown all the way to being the best team in the AL and it's July. No one saw that coming and to celebrate, they went on and traded for the first move of the 2023 deadline. All this and more

Welcome to the start of the second half of baseball, in this episode we go over All-Star week in all it's glory and start to dive into some potential guys who could be traded including Ohtani.  

The end of the first half had some exciting games including a combined no hitter. With All-Star week in our sights, we aim in on the second half of the season which starts Friday with so much still to play for. 

One more series left before the All-Star Break. The home run derby is set. and of course we've got to go over my June players of the month in another episode full of baseball. This one's a big one.
