When life gets hard, it leaves us with lots of questions… especially about God.  In our sermon series, “What About…” I’ll be talking about some of the doubts we wrestle with the most.  Today’s question is one of THE MOST OFTEN ASKED QUESTIONS: “Why does God allow EVIL?”

Life is going to challenge faith with some very hard experiences and questions.  The church should be the place where you can ask life’s toughest questions. Genuine doubt does not invalidate faith… it authenticates our faith. In this new series, we look at this thing called “doubt” and how we overcome it in our walk of faith.

This weekend we continue our “God Promises To Make Us Unshakable” with the message “When We Surrender to Jesus as Our Lord”. It’s one thing to call Jesus Savior, but what does it mean to call Him Lord? How does that make us Unshakable?

Our Heavenly Father knows what we need the most and will give that to us.  How much more will the Father give to us the Holy Spirit to us who ask for Him.  After all the Spirit of God is what empowers us to be unshakeable in so many ways.  In today’s message, we take a look at how “The Presence of His Spirit Makes Us Unshakeable.”

Jesus said, “Don’t worry about your life” but our past experiences and our current circumstances pull us apart in every way possible. Simply believing in God doesn’t make us free from these experiences. The difference is how those who truly believe process these experiences. The message of Christmas is simply this, "God Has Come to Us!"  Why did He do that?  Why did Jesus come to the Earth?  Simply to be with us so that we can get to know God as He truly is.  This would be an impossible task for us to try to accomplish on our own.  The greatest gift exchange in History!

The story of Christmas teaches us to be generous and good at being rich.  We shouldn't feel guilty... instead we should stay humble, trust in God to provide, know that joy in life comes from God, use our money for good, and practice generosity.  The Christmas Story ultimately teaches us that life is indeed better together.  So let's learn to love and be generous this Christmas.

The 2020 Election has been nothing short of a train wreck in so many ways.  How do we find peace in the middle of this mess?  We are to move forward in faith, but God calls us to consecrate ourselves.  That also means that we need to remind ourselves of what God has already done and prepare ourselves to move forward in faith.
