Episodes

Episode 104 - Mouse: P.I. For Hire 30.06.2026

Matthew played through Mouse: P.I. For Hire and Christina enjoyed all the fantastic animation, the soundtrack, and Troy Baker's gruff Brooklyn cop voice. This really is a solid boomer shooter, despite what IGN might say.

Episode 103 - Resident Evil Zero 08.05.2026

It's another retro throwback episode! Matthew played through Resident Evil Zero and he and Christina reveled in the early 2000s nostalgia and voice acting. This prequel game has its faults, but this was definitely a fun and quick throwback to play.

Episode 102 - Luigi's Mansion 16.04.2026

It's a retro throwback episode! Christina played the original Luigi's Mansion through Nintendo Switch Online. This one was a launch title for the GamCube and a game Matthew has never seen before. Christina played  it when it first came out but didn't remember much. It's a cute (and short) throwback game that only has Mario in it for a minute and a half.

Episode 101 - Resident Evil Requiem 23.03.2026

Matthew played through Resident Evil Requiem with all the lights on, roundhouse kicking his way through as Leon Kennedy and hiding from everything as Grace Ashcroft. Christina watched and enjoyed the visceral chainsaw action and all of the roundhouse kicks.

Episode 100 - Hi-Fi Rush 23.02.2026

It's episode 100! We didn't notice it until the very end, so stick around for a polite thank you from us. In the meantime, Christina played through the fun, tempo-based Hi-Fi Rush and had a fun time. Matthew sat back and watched.

Episode 99 - Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty DLC 02.02.2026

After five years, Matthew finally did it: He beat Cyberpunk 2077 and even played through the Phantom Liberty DLC. We talk about how and why it took us five years to make it to the end, how much the game has improved, and how enjoyable the DLC is.

Episode 98 - 2025 Roundup 29.12.2025

It's our year-end roundup! We talk through the games we played throughout this year (one of our slower years for gaming), touch on this year's Game Awards and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's total domination, and what we're looking forward to in future game releases.

Episode 97 - Dispatch 15.12.2025

Matthew and Christina are back after a mini hiatus, playing AdHoc Studios' Dispatch. This is seriously one of the best superhero things to have come out in recent years and we played the heck out of all eight episodes.

Episode 96 - Dead Take 03.11.2025

It's our annual spooky video game podcast, just a few days late! Matthew made Christina play through the short yet creepy-as-heck Dead Take that has plenty of big names gracing its short runtime. It's a game that does exactly what it sets out to do and gives you a few jump scares and some fun scenes along the way.

Episode 95 - Hades II (Full Release) 22.10.2025

Matthew and Christina have both played the heck (pun intended) out of Hades II now that it's in its full release and no longer early access. If you were a fan of the first Hades, you will enjoy everything about this sequel. It feels more refined with so many more things to discover.

Episode 94 - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 16.10.2025

Matthew and Christina made it through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with its excellent combat, excellent music, excellent story, and excellent voice cast. It just took us a while to get through it and we're sorry. But it's worth the wait. This game is incredible.

Episode 93 - Donkey Kong Bananza 25.09.2025

After a brief hiatus, Matthew and Christina are back with a review of Donkey Kong Bananza, a fun rampaging time. Christina is adamant that this is what the Nintendo Switch 2 should have launched with, but maybe that's from all the bananas she ingested playing as Donkey Kong.

Episode 92 - South of Midnight 08.07.2025

Christina finished playing South of Midnight a month ago. The storytelling, the music, the atmosphere, the visuals are all so absolutely top-notch, but it falls short when it comes to the combat. That being said, if you play video games for the story or the vibes, you need to play this. We also give a quick opinion-dump at the start about the Nintendo Switch 2!

Episode 91 - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle 30.05.2025

Matthew played through Indiana Jones and the Great Circle while Christina got to watch an excellent Indiana Jones not-movie and listen to the fantastic vocals of Troy Baker. But seriously, this game will make you want to watch the original trilogy after every gameplay session. The storytelling and vibes are absolute perfection.

Episode 90 - It Takes Two 07.04.2025

Matthew and Christina got to play a video game together! They played through Hazelight Studios' It Takes Two, which is an incredible amount of fun.

Episode 89 - Black Myth: Wukong 10.03.2025

We did it. We made it through Black Myth: Wukong. This game had its ups and downs in the difficulty of its bosses (and there are plenty). But if you like Soulslike games and a challenge, you'll enjoy it.

Episode 88 - Astro Bot 13.01.2025

Christina played the heck out of Astro Bot! There's definitely a reason it won Game of the Year in 2024 (we dive into that, too). It's also incredibly adorable and is an excellent modern-day platformer.

Episode 87 - 2024 Roundup 23.12.2024

It's our annual roundup episode! We go through all the games we played throughout 2024, our favorites and least favorites, what we're excited for in 2025, and gush over Alan Wake II, somehow.

Episode 86 - Balatro 16.12.2024

Matthew and Christina have been playing the heck out of Balatro, which, if you didn't know, won Indie Game of the Year at the Game Awards. It deserves it. We can't write this description anymore because we have to go back to playing more Balatro.

Episode 85 - Dead Space Remake 05.12.2024

Matthew played through the Dead Space Remake that came out in 2023 and had so many jump scares. Even Christina managed to get a jump scare! This is a solid remake and still so very, very creepy and atmospheric.

Episode 84 - The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom 06.11.2024

Christina played through The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and it's a wonderful throwback to the Zelda games of old. Except not! Because you play as Zelda! And get to use things like in Tears of the Kingdom! It's just all-around fun.

Episode 83 - Alan Wake 2: The Lake House DLC 28.10.2024

It's a second spooky episode this year! Matthew finished the second and final DLC for Alan Wake 2: The Lake House. It's a return to basics for the survival horror series and fun to step back into Cauldron Lake. We just hope Control 2 shows up sooner rather than later.

Episode 82 - Inscryption 21.10.2024

For our annual spooky game episode, Matthew played through Inscryption, which starts out as a tabletop card game in a spooky cabin you can't escape and gets a little stranger from there. It's a fun, quick play, but that first act is definitely the highlight.

Episode 81 - Dungeons of Hinterberg 16.09.2024

Christina played Dungeons of Hinterberg while Matthew backseat gamed on the puzzles in the dungeons. This is the perfect blend of cozy and action RPG and can really be as much or as little of both as you want it to be.

Episode 80 - Sun Haven 27.08.2024

Christina played through almost two seasons of Sun Haven, which is a fantasy farming sim/RPG reminiscent of Stardew Valley. So yes. She and Matthew draw many comparisons and parallels. If you're in the market for a new game in this genre, this wouldn't be a bad choice.
