As I am on the road trying to produce my feature film, I use this time during the WGA writers’ and SAG Actors’ strike to record episodes for the podcast series, that will accompany my movie before, during and after it is produced.      As I can only tape them, wherever I am on the West Coast, the episodes are not always in a chronologically logical order.  But they can stand on their own for now....

Wat een rare titel, denk je vast. Maar in de wereld van de magie, is niets wat het lijkt. En ook niet op deze reis. Vandaag vertel ik daar wat meer over. Onder andere over hoe de hulp voor dit project in één uit onverwachte hoek en op onverwachte wijze kan komen. Het heeft me geleerd niet meteen te wanhopen en zeker geen tranen meer te plengen op mijn favoriete Amerikaanse ontbijt: Bacon and eggs…...

En dan beginnen we nu echt aan de zoektocht naar de Joodse goochelaar Ben Ali Libi, welbekend van het gedicht van Willem Wilmink en de voordracht ervan door Joost Prinsen. Ik neem jullie mee in de zoektocht door de jaren heen. Steeds als ik Ben Ali Libi leek te vinden, verdween hij weer en moest ik een andere weg inslaan. Zo leidde hij mij langs allerlei wegen, waarin ik hem en mezelf steeds beter...
