Luke-Acts CEB (Common English Bible)

Religion EN ↓ 254 episodes

Reciting two books (or scrolls) from our brother Luke from memory, one chapter at a time. This memorization project has already taken 4 years and yet the payoff is insurmountable - to get to know the One who only can fill my empty soul. You will definitely find me messing up in these episodes of reciting Scripture from memory. If you are completely insane, and you listen to every episode as the come out, you will hopefully see with me my increased familiarity with Luke-Acts and will become familiar with Luke-Acts as well. This is a different audio Bible - an uncut audio Bible. gracias.

Acts 5 CEB (Common English Bible) 28.11.2025

This is a fun story isn’t it Anna and Sephira in some ways it seems like there is a connection between Anna and Sephira story and Aaron‘s son‘s not Abby who in a way both are very tragic stories of God‘s beginning new work to make people realize how big of a deal it is. I think that we should definitely temper this story with the fact that even though we cannot raise the dead. This whole book is i...

Acts 4 CEB (Common English Bible) 27.11.2025

Here we have Peter and Jon thrown in jail. This will definitely not be the last time that Peter ends up in jail. He’s actually gonna get out of jail tomorrow but then by the next chapter he is indeed in jail again and is also let out again this time in the middle of the night by an angel. The last time they just got let out, but in the next chapter, Peter will be let out by an angel and then if yo...

Acts 3 CEB (Common English Bible) 26.11.2025

I love this story. Here we have a very common thing both in ancient days and in modern days. Someone is standing to the side of the road may be holding a cardboard sign maybe not by asking for something. The person is sitting or standing where people walk by people or people drive-by. This person obviously is sitting because he can’t stand. He is sitting there asking if people will give him someth...

Acts 2 CEB (Common English Bible) 25.11.2025

Now we meet the main actor of the book of acts. Definitely not Peter definitely not any of the other apostles. Of course Peter is important, but not near as important as the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit, which Jesus pours out in his ascension, in fact, one of the theories of the book of Luke is that Jesus ascension is the key of the climax And that it could be said that one of the reasons for that...

Acts 1 CEB (Common English Bible) 24.11.2025

As our brother Luke starts out his second scroll or book it appears that we have an extended description of the end of 24 with Jesus appearing to them not over what seemed to be maybe one day but 40 days and eating with them and talking with them and showing them proofs That he was resurrected. Then everybody gets gathered together and we have another list of the 12 apostles oops not 12 we lost on...

Luke 24 CEB (Common English Bible) 23.11.2025

The final chapter of Luke, and yet it also connects to the first chapter of the book of acts. This chapter is all about the first day of the week the day of Resurrection, the day of the empty tomb, the day of the appearances the day of the trip to Emmaus, the day of the Ascension from the amount of olives. Jesus shares a few different times the connections between the law and the prophets and the...

Luke 23 CEB (Common English Bible) 22.11.2025

Jesus is presented before pilot and before Herod tossed back-and-forth and three different times pilot tries to release Jesus, but their voices the voices of the crowd the voices of the crowd which screamed, crucify him the voices of a crowd which cried away with this man those voices one out in Jesus Was taken to Gargatha the place of the skull, and yet it was Simon from Sirene, who carried the c...

Luke 22 CEB (Common English Bible) 21.11.2025

The festival of unleavened bread which is called Passover is the climax of the book of Luke, and it seems to be a very important story in biblical history. Did Jesus takes that story and places himself in the center of it later on in the book of revelation Jesus will take the on the character of the lamb this lamb, which was slaughtered in the blood flow pasted on the door. Post of the Israelites...

Luke 21 CEB (Common English Bible) 20.11.2025

Jesus talks about the destruction of Jerusalem, and he says that this generation won’t pass away until everything has happened. We could say that Jesus is a total liar, and that these things are meant for an age beyond us or our age or we could realize that Jesus is definitely not a liar and that he was talking very directly about the destruction of Jerusalem in 8070 Titus the son of the space com...

Luke 20 CEB (Common English Bible) 19.11.2025

People are really trying to trap. Jesus they’re trying to trap him by asking him what authority he has they’re trying to trap him with paying taxes or not they’re trying to trap him with questions that they don’t think he can answer about the resurrection, and Jesus appears unfazed, and he appears to answer them in remarkable ways. Perhaps my most memorable aha moment of this chapter is when I rea...

Luke 19 CEB (Common English Bible) 18.11.2025

Jesus encounters a very wealthy man. What is Jesus opinion about people who are wealthy? I suppose he likes to meet with them, and came to save and seek what was lost. Jesus tells a very interesting story about a man who goes away to receive a kingdom, common, a very similar Story as Harrod Archelaus. This story would, of course, have been well known to the people of the day, even though it is com...

Luke 18 CEB (Common English Bible) 17.11.2025

Jesus tells some fun parables about never giving up and about how to pray our posture of prayer our prayer position in our how we pray

Luke 17 CEB (Common English Bible) 16.11.2025

Jesus talks about crazy forgiveness forgiveness that is hard for us to understand forgiving seven times in one day in one day in 124 hour. Period really in one 16 hour period considering sleep that’s essentially someone sitting again against me every two hours or even more than that, that sounds awful, but I need to forgive that person. No wonder the apostles were blown away and then Jesus talks a...

Luke 16 CEB (Common English Bible) 15.11.2025

This is a chapter that’s a lot about money and that’s a little about reading Moses in the profits. It’s about a person who takes some money and uses it for relationships with people builds relationships with people by basically giving them money or taking away debt and is commended for it And most people in our society would not commend him how different God is than us! We often don’t consider how...

Luke 15 CEB (Common English Bible) 14.11.2025

What a great chapter Jesus tells three parables one about a lost sheep, and everybody would go after the one lost sheep. Sometimes in our songs we act like it’s a wild idea to go after the lost sheep, but Jesus and I guess anybody like my friend Tim, who has sheep would obviously go after the lost sheep. Everybody knows even those of us who aren’t farmers that if we lose one coin that’s a special...

Luke 14 CEB (Common English Bible) 13.11.2025

I gave the description for this chapter in chapter 13 oops for those of you who actually read this I don’t know maybe just a few people I’m so so sorry obviously this chapter I just wrote out in chapter 13 about Jesus, giving facet and talking about someone giving a feast and that that’s actually him what he’s doing now and how people even as disciples at the end can’t understand how the kingdom o...

Luke 13 CEB (Common English Bible) 12.11.2025

Jesus gets invited to eat with a lot of people. It seems though that they’re trying to trap him by eating them. It kind of sounds like a bad movie. Everybody’s always trying to trick him. Then Jesus tells this parable about a guy who is inviting people to a dinner and it seems like Jesus is telling this parable not about the future but about what’s happening right now about Jesus is inviting peopl...

Luke 12 CEB (Common English Bible) 11.11.2025

Jesus gives some advice about whispering he talks to you to you about who you should fear and then it seems like he says that there’s absolutely no reason to fear him because of his great and amazing love. Yes, the irony of the only one that you should fear is the one that you should least fear because of his great love why would we need to be afraid of God who loves even though sparrows and loves...

Luke 11 CEB (Common English Bible) 10.11.2025

Jesus teaches about prayer. He also talks about evil spirits and casting them out. Why in the heck would Satan cast out his own army and he also talks about signs of Jonah and the queen of the South a.k.a. the queen of Sheba, and he also gives woes the Pharisees and to the Legal experts

Luke 10 CEB (Common English Bible) 09.11.2025

Jesus gives instructions to the 72 as he sends them out, and also they return in Jesus, has a burst of joy when he praise it when he’s full of the Holy Spirit and praises his father. This is one of my brothers, most favorite passages in the book of Luke Jesus, overflowing with joy from the Holy Spirit, praising the father. And then, of course you have alone with that, in this chapter story about t...

Luke 9 CEB (Common English Bible) 08.11.2025

Jesus is determined to go to have heaven to enter. The heavenly realm to connect heaven to earth. If you will he is so determined to do all this what for interestingly it has something to do with you and I wow how mind-boggling that the God of all creation came here to take us there.

Luke 8 CEB (Common English Bible) 07.11.2025

You might think of Jesus, disciples as men, but in this chapter, it is very obvious that Jesus disciples were also women not only Mary Magdalene, Johanna, and Susanna, but also the woman who touched him and the little girl. We also need the demoniac who is set free and a lot of bacon that is going to waste and people don’t like it. Often times people don’t like it when Jesus upset their finances.
