The best relationships happen when there is mutual submission, and where I’m putting your needs above my own. But where does the strength to do that come from? Relationships that go the distance are truly supernatural.

Nobody likes rules, but they’re helpful if you’re on a road trip. The good news is that, in relationships, there’s really only one rule that matters.

If you want relationships that go the distance, you need to consider your posture towards people. Is it conditional - you respect them if they respect you? Jesus introduced a new way to relate that helps us have relationships that last.

 If you have any relationships anywhere, you will experience conflict. There’s no way around it. If that’s true, the cards are really stacked against us. How do we have relationships that go the distance? If that happens, it’s because we’re able to work through conflict together, and own our part in the journey.

Sometimes you’re the one that God wants to send. So you can trust that He is orchestrating the places, the timing, and the conversations just as He wants.

We often hear that we should think big, and dream big. And there’s nothing wrong with that. But what if, when it comes to joining God in his mission here on earth, we are just supposed to look at what’s right in front of us. With God, the smallest act of obedience can lead to the biggest result.

The needs of the world are overwhelming. Often, the needs in our own house are overwhelming! How can we not just throw up our hands and do nothing? There’s an approach Jesus took with people that can help us figure out how to be helpful and not just give up.
