The world often doesn't make sense to us. Our job is not to make sense of the world, it's to point everyone, including ourselves, to the One who make sense of all things.

The Psalmist depicts a world that is filled with evil-doers who have no fear of God, contrasted with the steadfast love of God towards those who trust Him.

Psalm 22 cannot ignore the cross, because Jesus on the cross cannot ignore Psalm 22. In His darkest moment, our Lord meditated on Scripture and fixed His eyes on the LORD all the way to the end.

God is your creator. He loves you. He is good - and His law leads to your good and His glory.

This Psalm of David walks through how we deal with trouble and hardship in the world by recognizing that God is our Refuge, our Treasure, Our Sovereign, and our Counselor.

This Psalm bows our hearts at the foot of the throne of God, where He is enthroned in majesty and glory and deserving of all worship. This Psalm then points out the insignificance of man, followed by the significance of man in relationship with God and nature. Only a majestic, sovereign God could make both true at the same time.

Jesus gives us His prayer so that by praying it, our lives may be shaped around reverence for a gracious God who has delivered us out of bondage and into a redemptive life.

Jesus prays in the garden for the cup to pass and Paul prays for a thorn to be removed. In both cases, God’s answer is “no.” When God leads us through suffering, there is value, purpose, and growth that is for the best, and like Jesus and Paul, we can trust the Lord!

Jesus is praying for the church, which is us. Specific in this prayer is that there would be unity among the church for the purpose of evangelism, the glory of Christ shared within the church for the purpose of glorifying God, and reception of the love of God in Christ as He lives in us.

Jesus invites us into relationship with the Trinity and prays to our Father that we would continue His work on earth.

In the beginning of the high priestly prayer of Jesus, we get a sneak peak into the intimate communication between God the Father and God the Son, teaching how Jesus prayed and how we ought to press into that intimacy with the Father through the Son.

John gives us a firsthand testimonial account of the resurrection of Jesus, so that we may know beyond doubt the reality of the resurrection of Jesus and by Faith have life in Christ now and forever.
