Jim joins Todd and they talk about Kevin Seifert's column on espn.com saying the Vikings decision to develop a young QB and win at the same time are cannibalizing each other. Oh how the narrative changed for the Bears because the Vikings couldn't cover a kickoff.

Todd asks Jim to redraft the 2024 top six QB's. He still wouldn't take Caleb Williams #1, but he's better than Jim thought he might be after his rookie campaign.

The Commanders Coach Dan Quinn is a good coach, but he made a bad mistake leaving Jayden Daniels in the game in a blowout and he was severely injured.

Jim and Todd talk about the instant classic World Series game with Ohtani dominating. Carson Wentz played with a broken shoulder because the Vikings weren't comfortable with their rookies for different reasons, playing instead. It served Wentz and the Vikings well to do that. Ant is hurt, does Dillingham need to step up and prove himself now for the Wolves.

Jim and Todd groan over the brutal weekend for a Minnesota sports fan. Even the win for the Timberwolves on Sunday came with an injury to Anthony Edwards that Jim said "doesn't look good." Jim mentions that Edwards changed his off season routine believing it would help him, but may have led to back and now hamstring issues. The Wild look bad and maybe it's time to change coaches and start talking...

Jim joins Todd from LAX after watching the Vikings get dismantled by the Chargers. "This is not a very good team." Injury report is lengthy. What's going on with Darrisaw only getting nine snaps. The defense is underperforming their contracts.

Jim talks to Todd from Los Angeles where he is covering the Vikings as they take on the Chargers. Jim gives his prediction on the game. Two interesting things of note from the Timberwolves opener regarding the lineup. Two big gambling scandals rock the NBA, one coach caught up in it is former Timberwolves player Chauncy Billups.

Jim previews the Timberwolves season as they open tonight at Portland. He still thinks OKC is the top team in the West, but who's #2? Chargers are a mess injury-wise heading into the Vikings game tomorrow night.

Jim and Todd talk about the World Series match up between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays. Jim thinks if the jays can get into the Dodgers bullpen, they have the advantage. Vikings injury report. Do they regret not keeping either Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold? Not at all says Jim.

Jim previews the Gophers vs Nebraska tonight. He's not a big fan of Friday college football when high schools are playing. Todd agrees but since it's MEA week they will watch. Jim's column in the Minnesota Star-Tribune compares JJ McCarthy and Rob Dillingham of the Timberwolves. They more in common than you might think.

Jim believes Carson Wentz will start at QB this Sunday at home against the Eagles, and next Thursday vs the Chargers. The O-Line is getting healthier. Jim has a theory on why Christian Darrisaw left the game early vs the Browns, and it's not that he had a "pitch count." What names are being mentioned for the Twins manager job.

Jim talks about his column on the Timberwolves possibly trading for Giannis from the Bucks. It's a very tine chance he says, but wouldn't put anything past Wolves President Tim Connelly. Vikings QB situation. If it's Wentz this week, it's likely Wentz next week as well.
