When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathise with him and comfort him. Job 2:11

For the Jews it was a time of happiness and joy, gladness and honour. In every province and in every city to which the edict of the king came, there was joy and gladness among the Jews, with feasting and celebrating…Esther 8:16-17

When Haman entered, the king asked him “What should be done for the man the king delights to honour?” Now Haman thought to himself “Who is there that the king would rather honour than me?”Esther 6:6

having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes. Esther 3:6

Now there was in the citadel of Susa a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin, named Mordecai son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, who had been carried into exile from Jerusalem by ​Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon …Esther 2:5-6

When the priests and Levites had purified themselves ceremonially, they purified the people, the gates and the wall. Nehemiah 12:30

The rest of the people … join their fellow Israelites … and bind themselves with a curse and an oath to follow the Law of God given through Moses the servant of God and to obey carefully all the commands, regulations and decrees of the Lord our Lord. Nehemiah 10:29

Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and teacher of the Law and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all “This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law. Nehemiah 8:9

Remember me with favour, my God, for all I have done for these people. Nehemiah 5:19

Meanwhile, the people in Judah said “The strength of the labourers is giving out and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.”Nehemiah 4:10

So the king asked me “Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.” I was very much afraid. Nehemiah 2:2

While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites - men, women and children - gathered around him. They too wept bitterly. Ezra 10:1

For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel. Ezra 7:10

So the elders of the Jews continued to build and prosper under the preaching of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah, a descendant of Iddo. They finished building the temple according to the command of the God of Israel and the decrees of Cyrus, Darius and Artaxerxes, kings of Persia. Ezra 6:14

Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building. Ezra 4:4

Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites - everyone whose heart God had moved - prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. Ezra 1:5

While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the temple of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the Lord that had been given through Moses.2 Chronicles 34:14

After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, thinking to conquer them for himself.2 Chronicles 32:1

The couriers went from town to town in Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun but people scorned and ridiculed them. Nevertheless, some from Asher, Manasseh and Zebulun humbled themselves and went to Jerusalem.2 Chronicles 30:10-11
